I was sitting in the bay next to the cheersquad, and I was actually looking at him up close because I didnt know if it was a guy or a girl previously

I've walked past him a few times over the last 2 years going to my seats in the Wade Stand and thought it was a chick. It was only when there was some mention of him in the papers during last years finals that he was the son of Roy that I realised it was a dude. The Hun recently refered to him as "her" on the front page, then the following day they ran the story about him.

I was in the bay next to the cheer squad as well. What a waste of space the are, they were very quiet for a "cheersquad". We may actually be better off without them.

The cheersquad are an absolute joke. Sit behind them at every home game at Skilled, and if Geelong are down by more than a couple of goals, they just sit there like stunned mullets and do nothing. It's only when the game is close or Geelong are winning that you actually hear/see them do something.

Wasn't there a story a couple of years ago that the cheersquad kicked someone out because he was gay (or that's what the guy was saying anyway)? How did this guy get a gig in the CS then?

I'd never even seen him before the 2007 season. There must be someone here from the CS who can confirm if he was around before 2007 and did he dress like a freak before then.

You've had your 15 minutes of fame Catman [not the Mod ;)],now piss off !!!

I'm not part of the cheersquad, but my seat isnt too far away from them (unfortunately).....anyway, Catman has been there for a while, but he didnt dress to the extremes that we have seen this season, he was a lil bit toned down (if that can happen :p)

Correct.

I took a friend from the Czech Republic this year, and he was absolutely fascinated with the cheersquad. Said it was "a kind gesture by the club to allow the handicaps to dress up and wave pom pom's".

Funny thing is that they actually believe that they are superior supporters.

Don't care who or what that mincer in the cat costume has to say, and clearly he has major issues if he felt compelled to write to a paper and grandstand.

Him, Joffa, that fat West Coast bloke, the old Swans bastard, the fat Footscray guy and the two ******s from Hawks need to be locked in a freight container to see who eats each other first.

Prancing mincer. Hope his dad is proud.

Well guys could not help myself in entering into this conversation on the cheer squad.I was secretary of the group for 8 years. I can assure you although I no longer sit with the squad that they and all the other squads are nothing like you think. These groups do a fantastic job raising money for their various clubs all the work they do is voluntary and they all pay their own way to all interstate games. Sure there are some handicapped among all groups but the reason they are in the squads is because in our society this is where they are treated like normal and accepted. I know there are also some overweight members in the various groups but once again in the groups they are treated like everyone else no one calls them names or downgrade them. I can assure you I don't think I fit into any of the groups you mentioned but I joined because I love Geelong, I wanted to meet fellow supporters and I had a Kiwi hubby who just did not like footy. I have made some wonderful friends who during my very serious illness 5 years ago they all supported me, they backed me up and help me get through a very difficult time in my life.
The catman was not around when I was in the group he has only appeared on the scene these last couple of years. I cannot condone the way he has carried on and I am sure the committee of the group will be contacting him.
Hubby is now a mad cat supporter, we are still squad members but only like a donation. The game would not be the same without these groups travelling all over Australia and London supporting their beloved teams. I know the big guy in Footscray and he is a devoted supporter just like those guys in Geelong, St.Kilda and all the other groups.
Even though I am no longer cheering behind the goals I support all the squads and thank them for supporting and donating to their clubs.

As if we needed any more proof that he is nothing more than an attention seeker. He's really rude to fellow supporters as well. Obviously thinks he's superior to us.

When I met him he was really nice though!
But, what an Idiot! If he tries to look like the GFC's biggest Supporter, he should act like it too, instead of paying out and bagging the Players!

Catman is hella gay..... Got to admire the work he goes to...and from memory...i think he travels down from ballarat for every game...thats effort enough....But he does look "Over the top".... I remeber itting near the CS this year...and seeing a bloke in the players get up....now thats a great idea...but the cat freak....um its a bit to much....

Also argee with C2R.....To many Fat ladies with facail hair in the CS.... they need to find a few hotties :thumbsu:

No, in the Geelong Addy it says it's from Geelong West.
Maybe you've mistaken him for CatmanForever, who is of a similar age to the 'Cat Guy' (Not a chance in hell, CatmanForever absolutely s***s on the 'Catman'!)?

Excellent post Jan44, well done for putting some perspective on things.

Quite a few posts here attacking these people for their physical appearance, mental capabilities or sexual preferences are pretty pathetic to be honest.

Whatever their physical or mental deficiencies, if any, they're just Cats fans like us. Please show more understanding toward your fellow supporters.
