Riewoldt?No idea
Who is number 1??
Nick Riewoldt
Ahh how many ahead?? Catchable??
Seems big Tom is equally adept when the ball is on the deck and also when the opposition have it...
I know it's the Hawkins thread, but Guthrie in equal 3rd for tackles inside 50 is a fair effort considering he played predominantly in the guts this season
Here is an edit I put together of Hawkins' massive game v Lions.
I think we sometimes forget how much he does in a game through his pure power and strength. Well at least I do at times.
I thought that was very strange too especially with the amount of things he did that lead to goals. Doesn't make sense.Yet only 2 coaches votes while flopper McFreekicks gets 8. Figure that out.
No one outside geelong is ever going to acknowledge just how good he is but he has been elite for an entire decade now and that is not an easy thing for a key forward to do. Of the gun forwards this century perhaps hawkins has not reached a brief level where he’s been quite as dominant as Roughead or Kennedy or the Riewoldts or Hall or Gehrig or even Richo at times.
On a score of just pure consistency and week to week output though he’s probably trumped most if not all those guys when you factor in his non-goal kicking work (save maybe for Nick who’s running was off the charts). Pavlich I think is probably the best comparison to him

Way, way ahead of N Riewoldt
Ah to remember a time when having too many tall defenders and not enough tall forwards in the team wasn’t a partisan board issue. A time when we all saw the same problem.I agree on the defence, this is going to be a frustrating season at the selection panel, they won't drop Lonergan in his last year but won't leave any of the other 3 tall backs out either.
Our structure when going forward breaks down, no second forward and long bombs. Too easy to nullify, need to lower our eyes and have players lead at the footy.
