We have played Greenwood, Mayne, Thomas, Phillips, Appleby, Brown, Varcoe , Atu, amongst others There in the last couple years. I’d argue none of them are natural forwards and certainly none have Jettas creativity and skill.
I’d still prefer Jetta I’m a role where he can use his creativity and skill as opposed to being at the mercy of our ball movement.

Can’t see where I said spend the rest of our cap on “rejected spuds”?
To answer your question, here’s a few names - Jarryd Lyons, Mitch Robinson, Tim Membrey, Ricky Henderson, Dylan Roberton, Joel Hamling, Ben Keayes.
Waiter, cheque please.

lol Membrey got to the Saints because the 2 clubs couldn’t agree on a trade. He was never going to be thrown away & never to be seen again. Saints were going to pick him in the pre season draft anyway & the swans knew it.

Lyons I’ll give you. Gold Coast were nuts. But again something was fishy there. He was one of their best mids.
who in this years crop of delisted players looks like a Membrey or even Lyons?

Hamling is okay the rest I’d want no part of.

oh & Robinson?

Robinson was delisted by Carlton after the 2014 season, having played 100 games for Carlton, after lying to the club about being involved in an incident with teammate Jeff Garlett.[8] He was then signed as a delisted free agent by the Brisbane Lions.[6] In 2015

we need to be looking at kids not Dfa’s. Hold the cheque.

I am interested in the following DFA given our list composition and their past performances. What are your thoughts?

Matthew Parker - Nimble and agile crumbing forward that applies fierce defensive pressure. A key deficiency of ours too.

Oscar Mcdonald - Perfect Roughead replacement as a 24 year old equivalent. Neither talented, both have clear weaknesses in their offensive capability in the form of rebounding/intercept marking. However, good thing is we have plenty of attacking defenders, and if Oscar can be decently accountable defensively, at basement price I think he will be a worthwhile get.

Jacob Townsend - Team player. Rare defensive forward who can actually convert and damage the score board too. Like I mentioned previously, we have an excessive number of forwards who just refuses to defend. Everyone wants to be Dustin Martin, Stephenson especially. Townsend would drastically improve our forward dynamic and increase the production of De Goey/Elliot/WHE. We've also shown a strong interest in defensive forwards in the past, having had Brown, Mayne, Greenwood all playing roles there at times, with little success. Townsend could be instrumental in shutting down a Hurn/Sicily/Short.

Majak Daw - You already covered this. I agree.

Mason Wood/Ben Jacobs - Both clearly have the talent to become a best 12-18 type player on an AFL list. Rigid medical due diligence required, but both have too much talent to not deserve a chance at AFL again.

Interesting talent pool - I see up to ~ 8 players who would improve our best 22 and keep the Brown brothers/Mayne/Thomas out of the team
Townsend is not damaging on the scoreboard. He had a brief run of about 2 months a few years back where he did, outside of that, he has been a below average forward at AFL level. People seem to cling to that brief stint. Its not who he is, and never had been

Was atrocious as Essendon. Tried hard, thats about where his impact ends. Big no to him.

I'll rephrase with Townsend for accuracy. Scoreboard impact is low, he just makes the most of his limited opportunities. eg. 2017. 16 goals, 2 behinds. He's someone who will kick you an accurate 1.2 goals per game, bring pressure, but struggle to get a touch otherwise.

Lewis Jetta delisted which is a surprise. If his body was ok is an upgrade on our small forward brigade - even if he has played more back for WC.

I don't think it's his body you need to worry about at this point, it's the area above the shoulders that would have to be the concern at what appears to be the end days of his career.

Let's not slip back once again into being a retirement cheque for largely unmotivated older players who look like they are past it, which for the record we have a pretty long and storied history of doing.

I was there.
He was electric and I think the umpires got caught up in the moment too!
Poor old Nathan Brown, (from memory) didn’t stand a chance 😂
I was there as well.. Dagger to the heart stuff😞

Daw I only see as relevant in defence with people quick to forget exactly how great he was in 2018. In his senior games this year he was misused and we didn't get to see him where he can play capable footy.

Ruck or key forward Daw is a hard no.
Agree completely. I think he's definitely capable of good footy in defence. Find it hard to hold it against him that Rhyce Shaw had no clue what to do with him

Roughy will still be there, plus Howe can play as a kpd - he nearly played a major part in a flag whilst playing that role.

Can add Kelly to the list of options. He's being groomed as a forward but has defence in his bag of tricks.

I'm not sure there's been too much deflection. Walsh and Guy have both said that it wasn't as bad as the media were suggesting. Anderson reiterated the same/similar.

This board has long been pondering the club's capacity to sign all of Moore, JDG and Grundy. Add the signings of Checkers and Daicos. Add that the AFL haven't permitted the Beams payout outside TPP and that it appears we're going to pay it all out in 2021 TPP. There were always going to be consequences. It appears to me that the club have elected to identify the players they'd prefer to lose and move them on.

People were complaining we weren't being aggressive in the trade period because the club suggested we would be. Then they're complaining when we are. We'll never know the truth of the discussion had behind closed doors but from the outside looking in and the way it has been portrayed it doesn't paint a pretty picture, but hard decisions have been made and hopefully we move forward from here.
If those three came out and said our colours are black & white, I'd check our website to make sure.

Noble announced Roos coach , looks like we are stuck with the dud Harvey.
Stevo will be unhappy if the story about him and John Noble is true!

No surprise there. Being hopeless at what you do tends to work against you in that respect.

He couldn’t land a job anywhere else and we continue to suffer as a result.

What story if I may ask?

Totally different discussion.

Phillips, Atu and the club seem to be playing by the accepted rules about departing players and keeping it nice, Treloar and Stevo not so much so. They all have their version of the truth but the club isn't going to pot any of them.

David Noble new Kangaroos coach. They can now give us pick 11 for John Noble 😉 ... even up the Stephenson trade
