Would have been Vardy. He also said that Simpson made more of an effort to get to know him and make him feel welcome in one season than Scott did in his entire time at Geelong.

So Lynch is apparently only on 500k for the next three years in a 7 year heavily backended contract. Thank god the deal should be done and dusted by Monday, with the mass exodus of our depth players but our Premiership window still wide open I dont know why we shouldn't look at someone like Michael Barlow for a year or ruckman Tom Nicholls from the GC.

Will be interesting to see how we compete in the ruck if we go in with only Nank again this year. Seems teams such as Collingwood worked out exactly what to do towards the end. I don't remember the last time we drafted our eventual ruck so doesn't fill me with confidence unless we bring one in via trade.
Also losing Conca and no midfield replacement is a concern for me. Is it confirmed that Crouch is asking too much?

Do we know if the club knew that Conca was leaving? Has his salary been taken by Lynch or does it give us a little extra for Crouch etc?

There's a few sides who may need that pick this year to get a deal done and are willing too give up something in the future to get it.

I think the Club "knew" Conca was leaving one way or another.

Crouch isn't going anywhere. We aren't missing much by allowing Conca to walk. Sure he tackled hard but the ball was never safe in his hands.

I say we do what WC did in the Finals when we play against a Grundy or Gawn, bring in someone like Balta as a Ruc/Run with role

Pies/Grundy just copied the Eagles in r9 when nic nat just smashed every ruck contest towards goal as far as he could, the majority of clubs tried to be cute against Grigg and tap it to advantage where we would often take control. I'd bet anything Dimma will be changing our ruck strategy especially since Grigg appears to be slowing down and losing all ruck effectiveness.
