This is a big area for improvement by the club management - we need a consistent approach to build the brand as a destination
Let's move Perth to the east coast. #makeithappen

Guaranteed game time
Midfielders not played on a forward flank

Seriously if you are a player manager of an up and coming mid from another team west coast would be your last destination.

Unless you are already better than the starting mids you will be played on a forward flank - until you get midfield numbers on a forward flank you cant push anyone out. If you push priddis out - hes on the bench and you are a man down in the rotation.

We are caught in a catch 22 here.

Anyone got any thoughts on Mitch Clark? Obviously had his issues but he's under 30, played his best season as ruck at Brisbane, a more than handy forward when he wants to be and is surely a better option than Minson or Petrie. WA boy and I can't see Geelong having any issues with him going after the stuff Duncan.

he can get ****ed.

Or we could be imaginative and work out what will appeal to played and present a consistent message about it.

Perhaps it is worth noting that the clubs PR focuses 100% on club members in WA. For example if you live in Sydney you are called Victorian Member and sent invitations to functions in Perth. What if there was a narrative aimed at players to reinforce other measures to make the club destination - new facilities are a start I guess.

But then again we are the poorest club in the comp so we could not spend money on such a thing.:(

Absolutely but I bet the Hawks get the best out of him, you watch him have a breakout year next year. Got to be something we don't see because Hawthorn don't recruit spuds

I can't think of too many that have been recruited and broke out as you say. They heavily rely on players drafted yonks ago.

Most agree that our midfield needs some upgrades.

Now its not always possible to snag an A grader so some creativity is needed.

Suggestion.

Jarryd Lyon . 184 cm 82 kg. Adelaide Crows.

I reckon that if Jarryd Lyons had been a WA boy that many of this board would have already put his name up as a trade target.

He is a very good B grader and he is out of contract and not impressed with the offer in front of his from Adelaide.

Word is that if the Crows don't significantly up the offer then he is going to look at offers else where.

He would improve our midfield instantly and I reckon our second round pick could get him.

We seem to always be blinded and singularly focus on only trying to entice WA kids back home and onto our list and here is an opportunity to improve our list by recruiting outside of our normal restrictive parameters.

The likes of Hutchings, Masten and Redden would all come under pressure to hold their spots if Lyon was added to our list.

Don't rate Lyons that much. Not a strong contested player and his kicking is suspect.

Have only seen him play a few times but he was in my SuperCoach team for a while and his lack of contested touches + average DE would shit me

People seem to forget that we are in the business of winning premierships, not making everyone happy and keep doing the same things over and over, Repeating things and expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity. Gotta crack a few eggs to make a cake
