Have we as a society moved beyond this sort of comparing?

What makes u say we would have picked McGovern if we didn't go for lamb?
I don't think people are saying we would have picked McGovern, but some are saying we perhaps should have. Myself included

Would a 300+ game player want to come to WA and play in the WAFL? I doubt it

We may have to dangle the carrot of a coaching gig as well, but that would probably set certain people off about the Norf boys club.

Minson is another I'd consider. Fell out of favour with Beveridge, is still serviceable though.

Love the way Breust goes about it, but agree he wouldn't offer **** all to GC.

Hogan rumour coming from his manager saying hogan is in perth atm deciding his future .
Sounds to me Melbourne may be pushing a long term contract and they want an answer .
If hogan says no they may try trade him when his value is highest and not have a long drawn out year of speculation

what would we give up for hogan? surely a mid would be involved and that will put us back as our midfield is our Achilles heel.

Hogan will nominate Fremantle

He's a better fit for them, they've probably got more cap room and have more to offer in a trade

yeah i would like him at us but not in the expense of a mid and honestly it would have to be a victorian as well and most us our vic kids are mids.

Might as well get todd marshall and develop him or go draft one next seson (meant to be a good draft for KPP's)

1st + Duggan for hogan that's equivalent of 2 first rounders IMO. We can also throw in lamb if they send a late pick back .

Trade Emac for a pick and a mid who can't get a game at gws - barrett or palmer

trade our future 1st to GC for 2 2nds

may as well take some risks whilst we are in our window

Exactly this. I would have been a nice score, particularly with his bro on the list (and Jeremy coming out now saying his brother may be more talented)

i dont think that would be enough. Duggans a gun but he has regressed and worths less (if it was end of last year maybe). But once again we lose a mid that we rate enough to be a vital cog for the next +10 years.

I love the idea of hogan but IMO he is not worth it.

Pick 12 and Duggan wouldn't get close to hogan and throwing lamb in makes no difference

I really don't want to trade Duggan, I still have high hopes for him. Would rather chase Hogan next year and concentrate on improving the midfield depth this year.
duggan should come good. Second year blues isn't uncommon and he was also played out of position. I really like the few glimpes i saw this year. He really loves to get in and under and win the ball (also loves tackling) but also has a bit of pace to go with his awareness and skills to go on the outside. Will become a balanced mid that we have been screaming out for a while. Will need a huge preseason in the gym tho.

Now don't get me wrong, I see great value in great key forwards and know JK will not last forever, but I sit he watching teams dominate finals just because they have quality midfields. The bookends are the icing on the cake. But build the mids first. So don't trade out our mids that offer something.

But will he be as good as Redden?
thats too much for his young shoulders.

I think Duggans will be the big game player we have been screaming for. Watching both Bont and Heeney tear up finals make me jealous as hell. Can't remember the last time one of our kids did the same in a final. Hopefully its liam next season.
