You may well be right, but Stephen May was supposedly such a certainty that players were told he was coming. Now it seems he is going anywhere but Collingwood and we decide after the GP to sign 2 players previously overlooked in Moore and Langdon. Doesn't seem to have been a situation handled cleverly by Collingwood staff.
Jeez you really know how to sulk at this time of the year TGG....

It's strange that 'everyone' seems willing to go to Brisbane this trade period.

Personally I can't see the attraction. Awful club who were gifted flags by the inequitable and interventionist AFL - wouldn't care one jot if they didn't exist really

Because Fagan is proving that Brisbane can get its shit together? Seems like a great club to be a part of at the moment.

A bit of a lightweight opinion by you frankly.

job security ftw - no one up there seems to get delisted.

A hulking full back is not a real need, I would personally be happy with a big bodied player from a state league. How many power forwards have really got a hold of us this season? We have the intercept players already that have done a brilliant job this year, we don't need to be forking out the farm for a big fullback like May when we have just come off a Fantastic season. A lack of a big big back is not the reason we are not premiers nor the fact we probably should have won a couple more throughout the year.

What proof is there that Brisbane has gotten its shit together? They won 5 games in 2018, had a maximum attendance of 21,850 (against us no less) and an average home attendance of 18,406.

Yes they may have performed better in a number of games this year, but at the end of the day 5 wins is a paltry return for a club that has been fed draft pick after draft pick. They should perform better next season, but there are no guarantees as we've seen with teams like Melbourne over the journey.

Secondly, my post stated that personally I don't see the attraction. Clearly there is some attraction for the players nominating Brisbane as a preferred club.

There's no need for you to be throwing around terms like 'lightweight'. It's just childish, lazy and contributes very little.

Buddy's matchup is Moore who got injured, not a bigger player, Dunn wouldn't have played on him. Kennedy got us twice but he is a champion player and we probably cost ourselves in the GF rather than him winning it for them. My point is what we give up for impact on our results will not balance out and selling the farm for May will solve nothing.

Reid?
Anybody?
He’s a pretty decent back.
... whenever he goes down back, he looks so at home. He just looks as though he absolutely loves it... never really convinced me up forward.

Cooked I reckon unfortunately

If Ben Reid plays 15 + games next year because he’s best 22 and not due to injury. We win it

CONTRACTED defender Marcus Adams has officially informed the Western Bulldogs he wants to be traded to Brisbane ahead of Monday's opening of the NAB AFL Trade Period.

AFL.com.au understands the 25-year-old notified the Bulldogs over the weekend that he had opted to move to the Lions ahead of interest from Collingwood.

With Adams signed at Whitten Oval until the end of 2020, the two parties will need to negotiate a trade, but the Dogs are expected to play hardball in early proceedings this week.

Adams' offer from the Lions is believed to be a three-year deal which would tie him to the club until 2021.

There goes that.

Not upset by that, too injury prone.

Why does nobody seem to want to come to our club? Surely someone of semi quality and above wants to play for the Pies?
Not that they don't want to. Just that we are offering market value, and reasonable contracts lengths. Whilst clubs that are more desperate to improve their list, like Bris, North, Saints and Blues, are offering overs.
So far this trade period is mostly showing that players are looking after themselves financially now. Taking a pay cut didn't help Josh Kelly win a flag, nor the geelong players to fit Gaz and Danger in, nor the Tigers players that accepted less this year.
You're a long time retired...

I don’t believe in the “long time retired”. Most of these players will walk into a job post football and still earn very good coin. Heck they might even utilise their free degrees obtained while playing football.

The playing group is tight knit at the moment and we want players joining for the right reasons. We don’t want another Wells or Mayne. That’s why we employed Ned Guy to look after our list.

Buddy kicked 3 goals on Moore in the first quarter.
