They can co-exist. One can rotate deeper. Howe often dose, Crisp can and Goddard also could.

There's a reason Essendon decided to part ways with him and it has absolutely nothing to do with his football ability (although in my opinion that has diminished recently as well).

Bloke is absolute poison for team morale now - the tape doesn't lie and personally I don't want our club having any part of that.

I would be disappointed if we didn't go after Mitch McGovern hard.

Perfect for our side.
Disagree about him being perfect for our side. Despite playing forward so far, I'm very confident that he will end up playing the same role as Jermey Howe, which is the role that Shaz, Tom Langdon and even Murphy seem ideally suited to play. He shouldn't be a tarhis type.get for us as we're well stocked for

They traded away Gibbs.

They aren't getting Beams. Nor would they be interested.

That was only because Gibbs wanted to go home with his young family.

I'm sure Carlton would definitely be interested in Beams if they could get him to add some class and grunt to their midfield.

Signing Moore is the priority and we should get it done. I think the only reason it falls over is if he just wants to live in Sydney which i understand is a bit of the driver.

If he does then the club has some decisions to make. Do you back in Reid / Magden / Howe / Goldsack / Langdon as your key defenders. I cant see them send Mihocek back but they could also add McLarty to that list.

In addition they could look for another Dunn type. Thompson might be ok for a year ad Hombsch might be one but could also look at Keath from the Crows albeit they seem to have him in long term plans. Collins who was delisted by the Dogs would be worthy of assessment.

If you convinced yourself the above could work for 12 months then you could take May as a Free Agent and keep this year's pick.

For mine push the $$$ across the table for Moore and back him in. If he is gone then fine but I dont think its a given we need to trade for May this year. Could be other options and then get May in next year as a FA.

Thompson looks set to sign a one year deal with the Roos. We'd need to come over the top with a 2 year deal.

I like Keath but worry about the speed of his decision making by foot. I'm not sure how Keath gets a look in for a while with Talia and Hartigan there. You wonder if Hartigan gets moved aside if Keath is in their plans.

We have a lot of key defenders including some aging guys. I reckon we might see one of them moved on especially if we bring in a ready made player in addition to Kelly.

If we hold off on May I would just back in McLarty and get an idea if he can be the player we hope. Understanding Dunn will be back mid season.

Who would you look at with our 1st round pick? What will they add to the list?

Fully agree on Moore, we need to lock him in and get his body right. He'll be amazing at CHB if he can just stay fit.

Despite his long and amazingly skillful career for us - despite how much we want him to go on forever - Penders is within sight of the end.

Still has great footy left but there is a time for every player and a few little signs are starting to show.

If we want to get a flag whilst Penders is still going great then we need to get serious.

If's and buts are not being serious - we need to get on top of our list deficiencies now.

We are same page bud. It also has the added benefit of backing in the playing group which I think is really important.

If you mean trading for the Rd 1 pick then I'd pass on McGovern as have enough of those types and he actually only averages 1.5 goals a game so $700k is big coin for him. I would look at Shiel if he came up though as well as Setterfield.

In the draft I am probably keen to land another classy mid type and unfortunately I just dont see many being there. Some names though and working on assumption the pick is around 15-18.

Connor Rozee - would be a surprise to see him fall to hear but would be the player around there at this stage be most keen. Like JS has real class, poise and x factor in his game and he just gets better and better. His form in SANFL seniors been v promising to.

Riley Collier-Dawkins - probably the one been hot on all year but is very hot and cold so his last month and the All Star games are critical to my thinking. He can have games where you just go wow he has that real elite ball winning, first use class about him. Saw on G earlier this year where some of his outside work was elite to. Just not real consistent.

Curtis Taylor - Just has enormous talent and seen it often enough to think he would really add something. Would start forward but I think he has midfield scope. His work rate is great, he is clean, lowers his eyes when kicking and just really neat ball use by foot and hand.

Also really like Ned McHendry, Jordan Clark and Liam Stocker but they probably slightly different types to what am hoping for. Big fan though.

Port cant fit really fit all of Hombsch, Howard and Clurey aswell as Jonas, so offer one of the first 3 key defenders a spot at full back.

Hombsch, Howard and Clurey are all above SANFL standard and would make us a much more stable side instead of playing Madgen at full back and Howe/Langdon/Scharenberg on 1st/2nd tall forwards.

Checkers averages more goals per game and contested marks per game than Mitch Mcgovern. He is taller, stronger and has an under 18 and VFL AA selection as a key defender behind him.

I’d only entertain the idea if the club really want two marking 190-192cm types to compliment Mason Cox. Even then its probably not worth the money or the trade value.

Was watching some draft highlights just then and that Collier-Dawkins kids looks a star, reminds me of a Clayton Oliver, looking at the phantom form guide he's going pick 17, perfect for us, but we are a lock for Quaynor. Any way we can work it to get both? Love the look of this bloke and with Pendles only 2 years to go he'd be great through there.

we desperately need to make it GWS and not the Swans.
The talk is Sydney because Andrew Ireland is really good mates with Peter Moore.
Agree, we should facilitate his move to the state if that's his desire.

If Moore is going to Sydney as a city we desperately need to make it GWS and not the Swans.

Trade Moore and a first and something else for Cameron if we can. The player, not the coach!
If our interest in Lynch was a smoke screen, you wonder what for? It must be a big name who would commands big money. Someone like Cameron fits the bill.

I hope so, but I just can't see how Lynch could possibly be a smokescreen. Imagine if you pretended to be interested in a player to deflect media attention only for that player to end up choosing you!
