The lack of trades is doing everyone’s head in.

I’ve not seen anything from either club that indicates anything other than they’re probably very close and once one trade falls - others are likely to flow.

Gold Coast look set to trade 6, Freo will trade 10 & something else. WC need to do Barrass to know what currency they have.

I just can’t see this going down to the wire …..I think early next week so Tigers get their haul of picks and can work out if they’re packaging to move up or forward.

I do laugh reading the posts (our fans too)- I imagine the dealings between the clubs would be quite calm.

If the Bolton deal wasn’t getting done - I’d have expected far, far more interest in our earlier picks by clubs chasing Houston.

Bolton gets to Freo …..yes Tigers could keep him but it makes no sense where you are at.

Freo could horde the picks ….also makes no sense where we are at.

The recruiters know way more than us what the value of these picks are ….to me it’s 10 & 18 or it’s 10 & 11 and other stuff. It's not exactly a million mike's apart.

Anyway I’ll finish as I begun …the lack of trades is just toxic on Bigfooty, however I really don’t think that translates to our football departments.
Moo, you're pretty reasonable compared to most of your fellow Freo posters who have me avoiding the Shai trade board thread. But it's 10 & 11, minimum.

Talk is the hold-up is because Freo wants to keep 10 or 11 to draft Bo Allan. I like Bo, a lot. But in all likelihood he's a third tall defender/running halfback at AFL level, without the kicking skills of the best HBFs. He might become a mid but his lack of BWA (ball winning ability) is a concern. At best I think he's a Shaun Grigg type. Grigg was a darn good player, but not one you walk away from a superstar to secure.

Shai is a superstar. A matchwinner. 10 & 11 is cheap.

Don't like our chances next year with the WA teams going all in for Warner. Will limit what we can get.
Plus Shai checked out during the year, another year of this and his value plummets.

Strike while the iron is hot. Deals will get done.
Rioli, Shai and Baker will all be traded.
Only one of them can get Warner. Both of them will be able to trade future picks two years in advance. Harley Reid will only have a year left on his contract.

We will probably trade Shai this year, but that's because Freo will probably give us what we want. (Well, we want a top-3 pick, but we won't get it, so it's 10 & 11, if not more.)

Likely from GC for their F1 in the Noble deal
What we need is for the Bulldogs and Houston to realise they're perfect for each other and him to go there for the Geelong pick they get for Smith. Then what do the Black Hole Suns think they're gonna do with pick 13?

Correct me if I’m wrong …. but it sounds like if a bid comes at let’s say pick-7 for Kako, Bombers can then trade out their pick-9 in live trading, match points for Kako, then try to trade back in.

And clubs can’t swap back the same picks they’ve already traded. However, we could do something like:

Trade a few later picks and an F2 for pick-9. Then when it gets to our pick-14, we trade that to Bombers for a Bomber’s F1.

So net result is:

Out : 14, F2 and later picks.

In: 9, F1

So we greatly improve our draft hand, and Bombers get Kako and another gun in this year’s draft.

I’m pretty sure that’s all within the rules, but perhaps someone can clarify?

Yep, can be done.

I wonder if we can use the Bombers' situation to get the Bolton deal done?

For example:

RICH give Bolton, 42, 43
RICH get 9, 10

ESS give 9
ESS get Future 1st, 30, 42, 43

FRE give 10, 30, Future 1st,
FRE get Bolton

Bombers get enough points to cover a Kako bid at 7 plus have a couple of later picks left to use + get a future first for their trouble.

Freo would be the issue here, as they may be wanting to hold that future first for a Warner play next year.

Yeah, Freo will want to hold their F1, and Essendon should hold their nerve and keep pick 9 to see if a bid comes on draft night. (It's lineball, I reckon. Maybe St Kilda bids. Don't think Melbourne will.)

How many trades have been done so far?

It's so slow every year, but this one seems even worse than normal.

It's just accepted as a fact that it's only this long for the media, right?
I think it feels worse than usual because this year we are right in the thick of it. Where as the last 6 or 7 years we have barely done anything so it didnt really matter.

Why don’t we just trade Bolton to St Kilda and Rioli to Norf.

So when they’re like sorry we’ve traded 11 and 13 so you’ll have to accept picks 6 and 29, and 10 and 18, we’ll be like sorry we’ve traded Bolton and Rioli you’ll have to talk to St Kilda and Norf about it.

I actually just got a new front left. Dealership said $1077. Dude down the road supplies that dealership. $285 fitted. Continental.

Yeah never get tyres from a dealership

Most parts they are okay with because the make and supply themselves but Tyres are 3rd party so dealers want to make profit on top and can’t match tyre places for buying power
