What's funny is all this talk around Collingwood looking at such and such, Blues want a pick to get player X. GWS or Port trading players Y & Z yet the only big movers and shakers are us and we are sitting back saying absolutely nothing.
toces sitting on the eggs warming them and theyre gonna start flying out in 4 weeks or so from now

So band 4 means Eagles 4 year offer is what $? Thought he might’ve got something solid to go

Where’s this coming from?

I reckon 600k as mentioned would be about band 4 with new salary cap. 4 years helps but probably need to get him closer to 650-700 for band 3. Big difference in compo for us.

If Graham gets 4 years @ $600k or more it should trigger band 3 comp.

If that is all we are in line for it is no wonder we offered him 4 years. It is not worth losing him for what will be a pick in the 40's.

At no point did I mention you.

You were the one having a go at someone for posting negativity. Who the **** do you think you are to tell someone what opinion they should have?

Don’t like reading his posts, ignore it. If hearing negative thoughts on the club hurts your little brain then don’t read it.

Too many simpletons on here that just refuse to expand their brains and hurt their little feelings when negativity is against the club.

Not a crusader, just have an opinion and no poster should be shamed for it.
Lordyyyy, talk about irony..

pull your head in :$

Salary cap is up 12% in 2025, it will need to be closer to $700k.

I think we worked out earlier in this thread the figure was around $565k. But that was based on 2024 salary because incredibly the 2023 compensation was based on 2023 salary. So if we add 12% to $565k we get $630k ish. The figure for band 3 comp should not be higher than that.

It does show how amateurish(or biased) the AFL's decision making is. To base 2023 FA compo on 2023 salaries but 2024 compo on 2025 salaries is a huge admission the 2023 system was, by accident or design, wrong.

That "error" by the AFL essentially brought the North Melbourne assistance package to pick 4, 3 x end of rd 1 picks, plus 1 x 3rd round and 1 x 4th round picks, plus extra rookie spots on thier list. Less Ben McKay, whatever he is actually worth. Eye-watering really.

Corruption at its finest. With the new cap band 1 should be $1m+ as clubs always find a way to pay top players more money. It’s clear when you look at McKay last year, and now Battle and Perryman looking at potential band 1 compo the system is flawed/corrupt.

In fairness they are looking at established players to help them one step closer we on the other hand are cooked and have to start a fresh and have one eye only in the draft.

It should just be % of salary cap. 6% + over the life of the contract gets band 1 and so on. And if the player gets an FA contract for 6% of the cap guaranteed, then that is what is debited to the salary cap for the life of his contract. But transparency is obviously the enemy of such a bent organisation.

The truth is out there!

In reality there is no system, just gut feel

Never understood why Clubs delist before trade, we got a 2nd rounder for Tambling after all... Club knows what we are doing, we just aren't telling anyone else until we have to

Yeah, That Geelong team must be a REAL bunch of dum-dums making their delisting's 48 hours after they lost their Prelim.
When we trade Coulthard & Cumberland, im gonna laugh real hard at their idiocy.....

It's pretty "rock bottom" when you are the last person to realise, you are no longer the smartest person in the room.

It's the perfect storm too (in our favour). Bong Head Hardwick has been ripping too many cones so wants to overpay for his beloved Rioli.

The Shockers are on the up but desperate and Bolton is the perfect player for them and they have good currency this year. Mini (Dick) McQualter might be the Eagles coach so gets Graham off our list and potentially leads a Bake Off with Freo for Liam's services.

Then you have the potential for all our picks to come into play for a Brisbane swap of picks so they can get Ashcroft and some other prick I've never heard of.
Marshall is the prick you’re talking about and he’s a gun. I’d like us to put in an early bid for him. Only reason he’s not talked about is because he’s tied to the Lions. Marshall getting to the Lions as cheap change after Ashcroft is distressing. Would be happy to throw our hat in the ring for him at 18-25 but it would be dependent on what other kids were available.
