Do we want this young group to be humiliated for 24 weeks? we need some adults & professionals to replace the entire era that just walked out. Is the club doing anything, but getting worse ?

I'm all for tanking, but you got to keep an eye on keeping it competitive for your members. Who would want to waste 24 weekends watching this young side get flogged by 100+ each week?

Graham is the most successful player out of all the FA’s, that should be taken into consideration.

This is all about how much $ has been offered for Graham.

If he is in the top 5% of players earnings he will be band 1

If he is in the next top 10% of players earnings he will be band 2 end of first round pick

I expect that this has been manufactured for us to get a Band 3 pick

We've got a lot of Tassie kids in our group too, so if we do see 24 weeks of belting they may further influence their decisions to jump on board the Devils in a few years time..... Agree, going to be tough next year, but there is a huge difference between losing with grace vs losing ugly.

lwhat? we have enough list spots to build a entirely new club once we delist the crap & take in the guys getting traded out & retired. It would be easy to make up to 15 list spots this year, but you need some adults to not ensure it becomes historically bad

Delist Kmac, Cumberland, Coulthard, Collina & around 5 others and replace them with 70% kids +30% ready made "pain sponges" in the roles that we need them. KPF etc

Add to that LeFau & Clarke who will likely start the season on the Long Term Injury List - we need adults and pro's to ensure the kids don't get slaughtered. I can assure you they will not develop well otherwise.

This side will need to sneak a early win otherwise it legit could go O-23 - do we really want that to happen?

Troy Chaplin, Mark Graham etc etc etc. These were the "Jack Darlings" that protected young Cotchin's, Edwards early on from being humiliated each week. People have no memory, i sweat

Pick #13 is wat too valuable for a 4 spot upgrade

These teams are willing sellers to trade down and they dont have any other teams apart from GWS (shit picks) 15+

Take out #50 thats way too much to give back for pick #20 which is not really a 1st rounder and will become #23 on draft night. Id rather bid and wipe them out totally

Fair point... l just think they've got to get a handsome increase in points for it to be worth trading. Its basically a pick 36 differential (400 odd points).

However, l havent included the worth of not selecting Ashcroft (which bumps it to potentially an 800 point gain)... equivalent to pick 23... so, you're probably right that Brisbane need to find something else to satisfy (1) us not picking Ashcroft and (2) getting a whole bunch of points. Just not sure what else they would send our way, given they will need all their future picks as well. Maybe its pick 20 + F2 and we send 32, 43, 50, 60 and 69 (and not bid on Ashcroft)

It isn't though, it's about the contract and place on the list - going against us is we have a number of highly paid players so Graham may not be in that necessary quartile - just hope he is going to WC, but then I would have thought that was true for Battle and Perryman as well.

You need to stock up on cheap pro's to make this strategy work ffs - how does the club not realise this shit? It's more than just "high draft picks". You actually need to develop them too
