we're in the wrong state
Would be very interested to know if the Blues would be looking at Finlayson back in a third tall role down back. Played there early in his career and was a very good for the giants with lethal foot skills off half back. Stagnated the last few years playing as a link up key forward but has a huge ceiling and would provide a better KPD chop out than Mcgovern or Plowman
I don't mind that.Offer our future first with 25 for Cerra and their third this year OR pick 6 straight out. Their choice.
Yep, just a year or two, give Mirkov time to develop. Still have Pitto too. Cox would cost nothing.Im gonna put this out there, and I know it is going to be hoo harred, but honestly I think we would be better off looking at Mason Cox.
well in that case.... nah, not interested...I thought the same but apparently he's happy going anywhere bar Sydney'Open book': Giant exploring trade options with ANY club
Jeremy Finlayson exploring trade options and it's not just limited to a South Australian clubwww.afl.com.au
I don't mind the idea. Proven he can cut it at the top level and a knack for kicking goals. Much prefer it to a roll of the dice on Brander or Riccardi.I thought the same but apparently he's happy going anywhere bar Sydney'Open book': Giant exploring trade options with ANY club

Know a couple of North supporters who would be ecstatic if he left. Very minimal impact with his disposals and wouldnt be best 25 for usTrent Dumont
Don't know anything about him except
Free agent
Plays every week for Norf
Would be cheap.
What's the Knock on him?
Thanks for that.Know a couple of North supporters who would be ecstatic if he left. Very minimal impact with his disposals and wouldnt be best 25 for us

Very informative, Thanks.Pretty average, medium sized accumulator type who doesn't accumulate it that much.
He's basically a role player that is 2nd string midfielder and doesn't have many outstanding traits. Think he may be able to do a defensive job.
Apparently Rory Lobb is open to going elsewhere
Sounds a bit like when we recruited Aaron Mullett.Trent Dumont

Yeah appeared to play like a fish out of water at times....Sounds a bit like when we recruited Aaron Mullett.

Yet he had 27 touches and was part of a Norf midfield that tore us to shreds a few matches back.
We are no 18 midfield in the comp, Suns and Norf feasted on it.
Pretty shocked he’s available, says a bit for depth of emerging Norf mids I would have thought.

One decent game here and there doesn't make the player, have a look at his body of work.
Couldn't agree more that our midfield is poor, but Dumont isn't going to get us anywhere. Bog average.
Are we though? Or was our coaching setup just really bad?
I don't think we are a top 6 midfield, but I am not sure we are far off the 6-10 range. We need to push 4-6 and rely on our backline and forwardline being top 2-3
Think Nick Graham.Pretty average, medium sized accumulator type who doesn't accumulate it that much.

Cripps' loss of form has been a huge factor - hope he can get his mojo back. At his peak, single headedly he could win games...
But a midfield of:
1. Walsh
2. Cripps
3. Cerra
4. Hewett
5. Kennedy
6. Dow/Stocker/Philp/Kemp...
Cameos from a heap of others - Martin, JSOS, Fisher, LOB and Carroll, Ramsay will be pushing up too.
I really struggle to find spots for Gibbo and Newnes or Cottrell.
It's getting there - surely one of the kids will break through....
To be fair, Austin might be struggling to find spots for them as well. Newnes probably safe because of the trigger he supposedly hit, but not sure Gibbo or Cotts go around again.Bit of an oxymoron, struggling to find spots for the likes of Newnes and Gibbons, but we cling to hoping one or more of the kids breaking through.
Sides at our level are picked on output, not potential. If a kid has similar output as one of the older foot soldiers, pick them
