Dont think so to be honest

Their contracts had to be restructured to enable Lynch to come in even though the majority of Lynch's contract is backended they still had to extend the contracts of Cotchin, jack &Rance. Whilst a majority of supporters always like to think their clubs have ample tpp space thats not usually the case
$1 mil x 7 Lynch
$1.2 mil 7 Martin
$700k Prestia
$850k Cotchin
$700k Jack
$500k Caddy
$600k Grimes
$600k Nank

$400k-$450k - Vlastuin , Lambert , Rioli , Broad , Short , Houli , Shai , Astbury , Graham
$300k-$350k - Higgins , McIntosh , Castagna ,Soldo , Balta

Thats nearly $12.0 million just there with $1.5 mil left for the next 20 players that would ll be on min + Game payments

We had several years when we had to front load to make the salary cap. Lids benefited the most but so did any one on a long term contract. We also made cap space for a big fish that we couldn’t get across and had to use that cap space to front load or lose it as you can only stockpile space for two years.

Tiger71 being real quiet. I hope there is some great news from the man.

We were meant to do a trade show last night but some real life stuff took priority.

I don't want to speak on Tiger71 behalf too much other than to say that he hadn't had a chance to catch up with his mates recently regarding trade stuff.

Hope everything is ok with T71.

He doesn't owe us anything.

We are thankful for the info he gives us when he can.

But most of all, I love the podcasts and the humour you guys bring.

Bet grimes isnt on 600 either would be nank

I doubt Nank would have been given an increase. Would have already been on good money when he re-signed in 2018 and has played 23 games over the past two years and has been demoted to number 2 ruck since then.
Still our most important ruckman though, would definitely have been given a better contract

Really ? Grimes is a AA backman and integral part of our defence and he would be easily on $600k and Nank has just signed a new contract being a 3 x Premiership ruckman with so many teams looking for Rucks and we are short. You may be surprised as he is not staying for $450k

I think i we did get that Big fish we would have seen a few leave like broad & Higgins
we really are not that comfortable with TPP space

Nank not getting a pay rise.lol

He has played 23 games in the last two years and performed in about 8 of them, his most recent four being his best, of which he had already re-signed for one of those. He was behind Soldo as our no.1 and only regained his spot in the side due to Soldo going down, had he not gone down there is a genuine chance that he might not have got back in. He has never finished inside the top 12 of our BnF and he struggles when he comes up against the best ruckman in the competition. If he is on more than 450k a year I would be very surprised and even that is a stretch given the figures that often get reported on here are fairly wide of the mark when it comes to how much the average AFL player earns.

Not even close. He had a good finals series (vastly overrated mind you) but lets not forget he come up against no ruckman that could expose his biggest flaw which is his ruck work. He got exposed week one against a bigger McInerney and we were very lucky that Ryder went down and he only had to deal with Marshall. While Lycett and Stanley (lol) are nothing to write home about. He isn't someone you spend massive dollars on to keep at the club in the same way you would spend massive dollars on to bring him to your club.

Accumulator who will suit West Coast's chipping around the backline... But he's soft as butter.

Was one that I would have liked to see us target.

Lol, Ryder went down i the last 20 seconds of the match...and how many ruckman lead a team for tackles in a final? Or pressure acts? You must be talking about Noby Tankervis, beacuse I don't think we are talking about the same player here.

We are doing well not falling into the trap of trading out players that want to stay. That's what killed essendon and given that Hardwick was one that got let go he must understand that better than anyone.

For now we just keep the band together and take it to the draft.

It'll cost them a 1st round pick I'd imagine and considering they don't have one, it will be a future 1st.... Don't think he's worth that personally.
Of course could be nonsense but Paddy Sweeney from Nine News Perth is reporting pick 60 could get it done. Would be ridiculously good business if so.

Cotchin Riewoldt and co were front ended contracts. So it’s likely most of our older stars are on declining pay.

Not sure about Cotch but JR definitely back ended. He spoke about it on his SEN show Tiger Time during the season. Next year is his big payday and he said (tongue in cheek) there’s no way he’d retire early.
I’d love to see the AFL p!ss off back ended / front ended contracts. If you’re on 3 million over 5 years then you get 600k a year.

Cheers mate. Now with lockdown over I am in overdrive finding work, that is taking 100% of my time and to be honest trade news is the least of my worries atm.
