I Agree Samson will be better than Soldo and i think it will be not far off and possibly next year

Soldo offered nothing in 2022 imo and with another preseason for Ryan and with his agility and leap i would rather have Ryan on the list in 23 than Soldo

Nank & Ryan combination is better than Nank & Soldo
Ryan will be 22 next year and undoubtedly stronger and will train for the primary role over the preseason if Soldo was traded

* Not to mention that Nank is a very durable Ruckman and rarely injured apart from that Syndesmosis he had

T71 said the forward was a lead up type in his early 20s. Not a star, so don't expect another A grader here. And Nick suggested during the podcast that it is a player from outside the 8. Let me begin the speculation.

Harrison Jones
Mitch Georgiadis
Jacob Koschitzke as per Grockadoc into last week

Thoughts on 12, 30, Hugo & Soldo
For both Taranto and Hopper?

If it's that combination and not a future first, then I'm pretty sure that GWS would demand our pick 19.

As for the players involved. Soldo in a heartbeat, With the emergence of Miller and hopefully Ryan, he'd see the writing on the wall. Would hate to trade Hugo, love his run and carry and I think in time we might regret it, but to get something good you got to give something good.

The only thing is, that if only one first was involved. I would want it to be next years and not this years. We desperately need to draft and develop another KPF to replace Jack (and let's face it Lynch aint getting any younger). We are playing with fire if we put it off for another year, unless we have already done a Taranto and have someone primed for the 2023 trade period. But apart from all that, it might be as good as we can hope to get

Would love Koschitzke, wouldn’t cost too much either I imagine.

I have real reservations about trading Soldo away. Just don't think Ryan is quite ready yet to shoulder the Number 1 spot if Nank (god forbid) went down for an extended period.

Liam Stocker has been delisted which seems to be a bit of a surprise. We were into that draft year. Should we look at him?
Mods - ban please

Dunno though with a decent midfield maybe we could cope with a couple of part time rucks. Look what Neale did to us with a second string ruck.

Soldo just cane back this off a knee. He was actually our favoured number 1 ruck in 2019 and 2020 as nank was dropped a few times.

Whats was surpising was nank was named captain in 2022 therefore the number 1 ruck. Soldo must have been disheartened by that with the lack of go this year as sole number 1.

I reckon with a full preseason Soldo can potentially get back to his 2019/2020 form. He is better ruck going forward. Even though nank is captain i would move him on first. Then potentially have a soldo/ryan combo in the future.
I know he's recovering from an injury, but soldo was non competitive in most games, he was being outmarked and out bodied by players much shorter and lighter than him. He was a cardboars cutout on the field, he needs to find his competitive edge again

He's contracted for next year and the Hawks don't have many decent key forwards. I'm not sure they'd let him go.

He is my best mates nephew. I know he has had a rough year with getting Covid pre season & being an asthmatic struggled for a while with it hindering his pre season then being played out of position at times in the ruck etc

A move certainly wouldn’t be out of the question I reckon if another club came knocking

We improved significantly when Miller went into the ruck on Thursday as for some reason Nank kept hitting straight into Neales lap, McInerney could't have given Neale better service he had 13 clearances 3 minutes into the third quarter.

He's probably not, but then you roll the dice with the combination of Miller, Ryan, Balta and hope Nank doesn't miss much footy, and then there's always the mid season draft as an emergancy.

If Soldo has value to GWS as a trade asset, I think we take advantage of it.

I hope we never ever again move Balta from the defensive 50. Let him own it

Agree. He's a KPD. Was more throwing up options if multiple players went down with injury and we needed emergancy rucks.

If that were the case, and he had to chip in for a few minutes a quarter each game, I don't think it would be a disaster, I'm not talking about him being a primary ruck.

If Nankervis went down and Soldo was no longer on the list, I'd go with Ryan/Miller.
Balta would just be that next option if needed or if one of them wasn't available.

Could always look at someone like Lloyd Meek at Freo if we feel we're a bit vulnerable in that area.

Nank was not dropped a few times in 19 and 20
In 19 he tore his groin and missed about 10 games
In 20 he injured his pcl and missed several games

GWS have Preuss, Flynn and Briggs who are ALL the same type of Ruck as Soldo - this rumour has no substance at all - so easy to debunk.

GWS will be after players like Ralphsmith as they lack outside speed. Who knows, Kingsley may even want to punt on Stack?
A fully recovered Soldo is better than all of those players.

Maybe they'd send the weakest of those three back our way in the deal? Gives us a backup ruck and then an upgrade on what they have currently.
