1st thing if we draft him.... this s**t gets left at the front door.
We have got Taranto - this youngster can be picked up by richmond with a pick less than 30 - another Charlie Cameron in our forward line- lets see if RCD can continue with his dynamic form in the VFL and carry it through to new season - breakout Season ? if not look at Hooper in 23 or others in a very strong draft year - midfields can be got but not those players with the X Factor - take a punt !

That argument is bs. Ross had plenty of opportunity to prove his worth as an inside mid this year and last and he failed every time.

It was only when we moved him into Graham's half forward role in the last few games that he started to show some form.

Rubbish. Had one game this year where he attended more than 50% of centre bounces, in said game he finished with the second most touches for us with 25 and 6 clearances.

It’s also the fact that if he was a decent tier inside mid/ on baller he would be getting more opportunities because he displays he can

Sonsie leapfrogged him in the back half of his first season

Love Ross and think he we will be a fantastic player for us but clearance beast he is not

Perhaps but he didn't get the opportunity, whereas Sonsie did for whatever reason.

In the VFL Morris had this to say:

Round 7:

Jack Ross (31 disposals, nine clearances, seven tackles)

"Played a really good game. His attack on the contest and the man was fantastic and he was outstanding around clearance."

Round 8:
Jack Ross (22 disposals, four clearances, four rebound-50s, one goal)

"I thought Jack's attack on the contest was a standout on the day. He was the one who really set the tone in this space."

Round 12:
Jack Ross (26 disposals, five marks, five clearances)

"He was outstanding on the day with his intent. He cracked in, tried hard, and led the way for our young team."

Round 13:
Jack Ross (34 disposals, eight clearances, seven marks, one goal)

"Absolutely outstanding game from Jack. His preparation and attitude has been sensational over the past week and he played accordingly. He was hard at it, won plenty of the footy and was instrumental in our win."

They are rebuilding for future years, not just next year. Shovekins turns 35 next year, Rohan 32, Stagerfield 33, Duncan 32, Guthrie 31, Smith 35, Stanley 33, Gutless Dog 30, Cameron 30, Bitcharse 32, Tuohy 34, Ceglar 32, Menegola 31. They can't replace them all with 18-year-olds.

Bowes is an okay player, if a bit slow and not the most penetrating kick. They're taking him on to get pick 7. No guarantees pick 7 will work out but a better chance than next year's third-rounder.

Bruhn I'm meh about. B-grader perhaps. You'd take a B-grader with pick 18.

Henry can play. Like his brother a great size and very good athlete.

I don't think their off-season deserves all the wank over it either, but they've done ok.

Dunno. I was just pointing out he could and did get a game at Collingwood. In time Shovekins' spot maybe.

Geelong’s ability to bring in quality youth and developing some of their own has to be applauded. 12-months ago their only quality players under 25yo were Henry and Parfitt.

Now 12-months later when you’d hope they’d be falling off a cliff, that bracket with some genuine talent post trade will likely include: Henry, Parfitt, DeKoning, Stengle, Atkins, O Henry, Bruhn, Holmes, Close and arguably Bowes … and they’ll have pick #7.

So their ability to have only 2 quality young players and turn that into 8-10 whilst winning a flag is pretty good going. I hate to say but with their boutique ground dimensions guaranteeing a few wins each year, plus their surf coast lifestyle at a bargain price ensuring free agents and players nominating them, I’m not sure they’ll be far from finals and/or top-4 for a fair while yet.

jack ross is an interesting one. i want him to get like 5 weeks in a row as inside mid, every centre bounce kinda thing to see what he can do. problem is that still might not happen if hopper and taranto come in

dimmer basically plays him in some weird half forward or half back position most of the time
