That doesn’t mean we have to say yes , it’s kinda what contracts mean . Papley wanted to leave swans once , they said gtfo. I’m not saying there are nil circumstances we’d do it , but the deal would wanna be overs , and that’d likely involve a player from freo most of the punters would wince at losing , we ll see where this goes , but it’ll be a fair bit more than a couple of lousy teen picsThe only reason I would trade any of Baker, Bolton & Rioli is if they asked to leave, otherwise we would be mad to let any of them go. But if they don't want to go through a few tough seasons before we start climbing the ladder again, so be it.
U actually get over market value coz he’s contracted and we can say NO, bit like soldo , we got a pair of r2s , prob double his worthIts simple.
If Bolton wants to go-we get market value for him.
If he wants to stay. Great.
Same with Baker.
Personally i think both will stay.
we should be cutting the C-B grade players like Short, Graham and Broad.
We've been down cos we are have had to play too many kids. Half way through the year, this week we have named a team that actually looks like it could win.Of course clubs will come for our good players while we are down…
I’d rather keep Baker than Bolton to be honest
It’s the exact opposite from what I’m reading and hearing! Deep and evenfrom what I'm hearing it's a pretty shallow draft so no point going all-in this year when late firsts turn out to be duds.
Think trying to push the picks over a few drafts is better anywaysbetter off getting picks in next years draft than a hundred late first/seconds in this one. from what I'm hearing it's a pretty shallow draft so no point going all-in this year when late firsts turn out to be duds.
If we are talking pure value at the trade table he would probably be the highest on our listJ Amiss and 2 x 1st rounders in the teens is the only deal they could offer that I would even listen to for Bolton but I couldn't handle seeing PEAK Bolton in another jumper.
100% - cant blame Freo for trying, but I cant see it happening. If we are talking pure value at the trade table he would probably be the highest on our list
25, all Australian, multiple top 5bnf finishes, contracted until the end of his career essentially and entering his prime years
If Rioli needs a godfather offer Bolton needs a godfathers godfathers offer
Yeah it absolutely makes sense essentially he is an upgrade/replacement for Walters as that xfactor match winner100% - cant blame Freo for trying, but I cant see it happening.
Load of shitWhat and never get Cotchin, Dusty, Rance, Astbury, Riewoldt. Etc. If we play our cards right here we could grab all of these in two draft years. If we could draft our previous premiership core in two draft years would you do it? I would. Bolton and Rioli are not core players you build a team around but are the X factor to get some clubs into contention.
Brodie. Lol.Sorry to intrude, trade season already is dumb.

Always busts and Gems.
In saying all that, no way it gets done.
Doubt Freo would trade 3/4 first rounders & no way they’re trading a young superstar.
Possibly an Erasmus (pick 10 couple years ago) or Brodie plus some 1st rounders.
Richmond hold all the cards here
outside of top 5 its vanillasville, have a look at noobermenchs highlights packages, no point going hard to collect a horde of nothing picks this year. It’s the exact opposite from what I’m reading and hearing! Deep and even
Baker is not a FA FFS PEOPLE!If Baker goes as a FA on big money I wonder what our changes of R1 compo are/pick 2? The clubs can ask the AFL what the deal would result in and part of the negotiation could be adjusting the deal to ensure R1 compo.
Bolton I would be asking them to trade at least P10 + 13 so we can trade up the draft.
We have picks 2, 22, 33, 40, 41, 51, 58, 66, 71.
Brisbane (P6) and GC (P8) will need points for academy/FS selections.
Would trade picks 10 + 13, everything else 33-71 for picks 6 & 8.
Go to the draft with picks 2 (ladder), 3 (possibly Baker), 6, 8 & 22.
Would prefer to keep Baker but open to trading Bolton.
In the 2016:draft the year Bolton was drafted...
Pick 10. Jack Bowes
Pick 13 Daniel Venables
Pick 15 Jordan Galliucci
I'd do it just to troll our own supporters.Shouldnt be an issue for most around here who keep spruiking that Bolton is lazy and over rated
Went early last time on the Bolton resigning as was super confident in my source.Unless Shai has changed his position on living in Perth he stays in Melbourne or finds a home in another city but not perthIf Baker goes as a FA on big money I wonder what our changes of R1 compo are/pick 2? The quote from prior to his resigning was 100% he stays in Vic 95% its Richmond

More often than not they are busts. 2019 is the exception.Sorry to intrude, trade season already is dumb.

Soz, but dude, come on.Money talks! He's a bit selfish on-field, wouldn't surprise me if he considers the huge pay day elsewhere.
Perhaps we could trade him to WCE as part of a deal for Reid...
Settle petal!
Erasmus way to early to make a call but not going great and if you look up plodder in the Macquarie dictionary there is a picture of Brodie….passMore often than not they are busts. 2019 is the exception.
Also to say Freo won't do it, that is quite a guess. They know Bolton is contracted until 2028 yet are still going after him, so they know it's going to cost them a packet to get him.
You said it yourself Richmond hold all the cards here. Those 3 first rounders sound great on paper but they really aren't, that won't get Richmond across the line.
???? Didnt realise I was talking about either player LMAOErasmus way to early to make a call but not going great and if you look up plodder in the Macquarie dictionary there is a picture of Brodie….pass
Hmm, judging a draft on highlights is far from the best way to determine its strength. Our recruiters have been watching these kids for years and have indicated it’s a good draft. I think I’ll back them in, but time will be the judge as to how good this draft is.outside of top 5 its vanillasville, have a look at noobermenchs highlights packages, no point going hard to collect a horde of nothing picks this year.
