Is Kersten worth anything? If he wants to come let him nominate for the PSD. Thats about his worth.
Hawthorn doing very well too if they get O'meara along with the others, however with us keeping pick 7 and getting our targets probably sways it to us
Geelong last year bought in Dangerfield, Henderson, Selwood and Zac Smith as well as getting a softer draw last year and look what happened.
Next year we bring in H.Bennell, B.Hill, C.Mac, Kersten and possibly Hamling whilst losing Mayne, C.Pearce, Hannath, Mzungu and DeBoer. Plus you add in more games to Fyfe, Sandi and A.Pearce (possibly Johnson too) and we will have a softer draw then things aren't looking that bad.
Plus a full pre-season into Pick 7, Balic, Yarran, Apeness and all the sudden our 22 looks pretty good with a decent amount of depth.
Looks like you may have missed a pretty big out from the 2016 teamGeelong last year bought in Dangerfield, Henderson, Selwood and Zac Smith as well as getting a softer draw last year and look what happened.

Pavlich not considered a loss?
Bit harsh on a club legend
He did alright. Came 4th in the B&F.Same as 2016 then

Spirit isn't a term we use for 2016. I thought Pav was quite good throughout the year though. It is hard when you are still trying to play top flight footy at 34+ years of age. Not a problem the dockers face next year thoughSame as 2016 then

You're more like Robbo than Hagdorn.

But...but...WHAT ABOUT DA POINTS!!!!!
Seriously, the point system has made people dumber when it comes to trade week. That is saying something.
What's happening with Barlow?
Brisbane made it clear they are going to accumulate as much talent through the draft as they can this year. This trade gets them four picks in the top 19 in a strong draft, and only trading down one spot. Points don't matter to them. It's a win/winCheers for the backhander, but you're missing the point. GWS approached Brisbane to get this done, not the other way round. Trading up to pick 16 is great and all, and improves Brisbane's position in the draft for - potentially - zero loss, but given how desperate GWS are for McGrath, Brisbane held the cards and I'm surprised they didn't push for another pick that is likely to not be live for GWS in any event.
Points may not tell anything like the whole story, and their relevance clearly varies according to club, but they're also the only valuation method we have other than gut/opinion.
