You'd think Hardwick would have all the necessary inside info on Dowler. Regarding ability, mental hardness, etc after watching him recover from injury at the Hawks.
So if Dimma was happy to have him, I wouldn't mind, but can't imagine the Hawks having any interest whatsoever in Polo. Any chance of Dowler being delisted and going to the PSD?

The stupidity of some people never ceases go amaze me.
He wants out, he is out of contract and is 100% committed to Richmond and we also have pick 2 in the PSD and they genuinely believe they will get a deal like that.

We can take more than one player from the PSD I believe. If another club picked him up before us, I don't think we'd care. Just saying, if he was in the PSD, and available when we had no interest in anyone else, then I'm happy to go with Dimma's call.
Carlton and Essendon will know that we have committed to two players, and can only get one of them in the PSD. That's the only bit of leverage they have. Once a deal is done with one of them in trade week, then the other loses their advantage. Just a matter of if/when one of them buckles.

Hopefully we get a pick for Thursfield and then trade that for Houli. Then say to Carlton pick 50 is the offer or PSD...obviously it is a ridiculous offer but they would be arrogant and stupid not to take it because it is still 40 picks higher than what they would get.

Agree. Would use the pick we were going to use to trade to the Bombers. If someone takes him then oh well....our pick technically moves a pick higher and we only get Grigg.
From what I understand we are more keen to get Grigg to our team than Houli. So if it came down to a choice Grigg would be the one we take.

If we do have a heads of agreement with Houli, then chances are we have committed to him either in the form of a trade with the Bombers or using our PSD #2 pick. I don't think he would have fended off the Bombers last minute efforts to keep him if he was a chance to go to any club (and possibly interstate) via the ND.

They would also both know that whoever doesn't do the deal first will end up with nothing so a pretty strong motivation to get in first and atleast get something back.

If RFC_Official is implying that we almost traded with Carlton, then surely it is Houli who we will send to the PSD and throw a bone to Carlton for Grigg.
