I like this idea as Lucas is a good set shot when he is settled, has speed and probably more endurance than JG. Will really miss JG!

Sorry but if Garlett and #45 can be used to elevate a pick to #3 then why wouldn't Carlton just do a trade directly with Melbourne and gut the WB out of it ??? That said Melbourne would simply laugh at the idea.

Would you even need to get #45 involved.

Because he is out of contract, wants to go to Melbourne and has a lot of off field issues... it's pretty much worst timing possible for us

Then 23 and Robbo to GWS for Jaksch and 42

We end up with
Pick 7, Jaksch, 42, 45

Lose 28, Garlett and Robinson.

Horrible timing for us considering what Garlett and Robbo are capable of.

Because there is a massive risk he'll never be that player again. And clubs know it.

Under normal trading, a small forward who has kicked close to 40+ goals three out of the past four years would command a significant trade. Offloading him after a year at the Ants and off-field dramas is not great business

But what choice do we have!
