If Melbourne think that Frawley, who they played as a forward all season and kicked 15 goals, is worth #3 then they would have to think that a +40 goal small forward is worth something similar !!!!!! :D

Isn't Melbournes 2nd round pick off to Collingwood for Lumumba??

Or how about

Carlton loses #7, Garlett and #45. Receives pick #3
Melbourne lose #3. Receive #7, Garlett and #45.

Sorry but if Garlett and #45 can be used to elevate a pick to #3 then why wouldn't Carlton just do a trade directly with Melbourne and gut the WB out of it ??? That said Melbourne would simply laugh at the idea.

Would you even need to get #45 involved.
Could we not just trade #7 and Garlett to get #3.

Is there anyway we could get Dean Kent as part of the Jeffy trade ? Think he has massive upside, was very impressive against Brisbane this year at Docklands.

Why is Garlett, who has kicked +39 goals in three of his last four seasons, only worth a 5 spot upgrade ???
Because there is a massive risk he'll never be that player again. And clubs know it.

Under normal trading, a small forward who has kicked close to 40+ goals three out of the past four years would command a significant trade. Offloading him after a year at the Ants and off-field dramas is not great business

But what choice do we have!

Melb have already commited for their 3rd round pick and won't offer their second.

Would at least want Melbourne 4th rd selection too

Garlett + #28 for #23 + #60.

The way things are going, and after loosing Waite for nothing, we will probably be using a few 4th rd selections ..........
