Houston would be winning our BnF right now. Surely

Spp would be a smokey surely1.Houston
2. burton
3. Boak
Would bet my house on that being the count right now.
Arguably in the all-aus team as of right now too.
Reckon there’s massive underrating of Bonner going on right now too. Tightened up defensively, and offensively is a massive weapon for us and means teams can’t lock down and assign a defensive forward to Houston or burton, as the workload is very well spread.
Is luko really an upgrade on Marshall? At this rate we will be able to get rankine for free in a year or 2
And Luko will be an upgrade on Marshall sure, but sadly his current trajectory isnt the Nick Riewoldt he was showing
SPP?1.Houston

Behind those three but yeah he would be right up there. From memory he’s been pretty consistent.SPP?
On production… no.Is luko really an upgrade on Marshall?
A quick glance at the coaches votes (without actually adding them up) and I'd say it's roughly ...SPP?
Todd still under rated around here. Todd’s still only 23 and looking more and more like Wazza every week.
I am stoked with the improvements in Todd's endeavor in the last 3 games prior to Cairns. But he looked nothing like Wazza in last weeks 7 possession, 0 tackle, 1 contested mark game. Even taking into account the conditions.

Todd's goal accuracy is phenomenal. If he was kicking at his career 56% he would be sitting on 8.4 goals at his career average of 1.1 goals a game. His tackles are well up which is great, he is taking more marks and hopefully the improved kicking at goal is a sustained trend. Along with the improvements in endeavor and attitude the wheel appears to be turning.
However lets see how he is sitting at least come the bye before breaking out the Wazza comparisons. Tredrea was well on his way to his second AA Guernsey at Todd's age.
You'd struggle to find an Eagles fan that doesn't want Petrucelle delisted, and Bedford gives me massive poor man's Sam Gray vibes. I wouldn't mind taking a punt on Rankine if the price is right, but the last thing we need is more shit small forwards with very little upside.Small forward wise:
- Bedford from the Dees
- Rankine from the suns, pending cost
- Petruccelli from the Eagles, has the speed, not a bad kick
All would be relatively cheap (maybe not Rankine) and would add depth and speed in an area we desperately need.
Would still hope we are gearing up for a plan to get JHF next year.
Andrew McGrathis holding off contract talks until later in the season while Essendon also needs to work on re-signing its three top-10 draftees from 2020.PLAYERCARDSTART1Andrew Mcgrath

Seven reports McGrath, the No.1 pick in the 2016 draft, is in no rush to sign a new deal though it would be unlikely for him to request a trade away.
The only top-10 players from the 2020 crop yet to sign a contract past their original draft deals, Archie Perkins, Nik Cox and Zach Reid are all without a deal for 2023.
Is it me or is McGrath not that good.
Robbie and motlop nearing the end and Orazio always injured a speedy small forward should be a priority.
Pickett not leaving anytime soon would of thought we sould definitely be in rankines ear.
The key is a good specialist small speedy forward, apart from Faz, Gray and maybe Williams (fingers crossed) the rest are fill in part timers in that role (butters and rozee are now mids). Good specialist forwards are the new gold in today's footy and are a real point of difference in structures. We've plenty of these.
Rozee, Farrell, Pep and Butters can all rotate through with high impact; Williams, Mead and Schofield still learning the craft. Then there's others untried who could make good small forwards, Bonner and Fredrick spring to mind.
Maybe go for one in the draft, late pick and pray for the next Robbie Gray.
