He would be above Mead Drew and Dumont, but I'm not selling the farm to get him.
Disagree, I think Drew is already a better player than Graham, Mead is equal in talent with more room for improvement. We love Graham for his 2017 grand final but apart from that one game he has been very average.

He would be competing with SPP for the roaming pressure HFF, not a good option imo

I hate to break it to you, but that is a very mediocre midfield, demonstrating zero depth.

Mead totally unproven at AFL level. Dumont is a depth player who played a role but should be playing SANFL. Drew is part of our problem, solid battler but doesn't do anywhere near enough and his get it, kick it, lacking composure style is not improving. Even Butters isn't proven as a 22 game midfielder yet, he flashes in and out, game after game, most of his disposals are Kane like going sideways or lacking pentration. Boaks probably gone in '24.

Our midfield is a huge concern, has been for years. Well structured enough to be competitive, but consistently destroyed by the best sides.
Its not a mediocre midfield. That's an over the top statement. That top 4 players, when playing at their best, is probably a top 4 midfield. And Drew is a strong 5th in line. SPP is another who could play a bit of midfield if required.

There are some challenges in terms of getting everyone playing well and fit. And planning for a Boak retirement. But overall it's certainly not mediocre. If a star comes along and is available, sure get them , but we don't need to fill the list with middle career battlers like Graham or god forbid Matt Crouch.

There are massive issues in other areas of the ground that need more attention than the midfield.

Mead is a kid and very much an unproven player at this stage, Graham is clearly ahead of him at this stage. Still think he shades Drew (who i rate) also with his versatility.

Massive underrating of butters there.

He’s already shown he’s elite in the midfield, the one and only query is keeping his body right with his small frame and kamikaze attack.

Rozee is elite in the midfield.

Wines just won a brownlow.

Our top end is pretty damn strong.

We’ve got strong wing options with Farrell duursma Bergman Bonner Burgoyne and sinn. A number of those guys can run on ball and will develop there. We’ve got Spp who can run in the middle. Drew is arguably in the top few best defensive mids in the game. Houston can roll through there to a high level. Dumont is pretty decent depth.

Wines rozee butters is elite on ball group

We’ve got good wings and some of them might become much better than good.

We really just want another onballer to step up to wines / butters level to make it an awesome foursome, and there’s some chance that could be sinn / Bergman / pick 8 anyway.

Our midfields underperformance is entirely laid at hinkleys feet and that we have barely played our best midfield together yet (wines rozee butters) thanks to them being young and developing and a injury setback or two.

Wines , butters and rozee went off in the 2nd half and the crows were powerless to stop it plus the 3rd qtr against Geelong shows the ability there

Surely this Hawks thing is not going to be resolved quickly. Just to think we traded a few of our boys into that shitty environment.

Why wait ,should be on phone now. Going to be a cloud over him either way.

I’m guessing it will drag on for a while, North have an issue as they have no coach - Brizzy have a team that can carry on, North need to get the plan B sorted and possibly move on in the next 6 weeks.

I can’t see it being resolved that quick if it ends up in court?

It sounds like Tomlinson is available free to a good home. Free meaning pay his large salary for the next two years as a salary dump for Melbourne. He's a decent tall defender with some iffy kicking. I'd do it as long as we draft some kids.

If the reporting is correct that Suns will attach pick 7 with him we should 100% be looking at it.

GOLD Coast is set to dangle pick No.7 as the draft sweetener for clubs vying to take on Jack Bowes and the two remaining years on his contract.
Say that again.
GC are offering pick 7 if someone takes old mate off their hands? I don’t even know who he is and I’m in. If we’ve got room in our cap like they say we do we should go for it.

Exactly. We have cap space, no one wants to come here. So instead of trying to convince an elite to get here draft one
