Why give up Bonner?
We have a plethora of HBs and Wingers and he's our worst imo. Free up some cap space, give up someone who isn't as valuable for us but could be to them. Rather give up Bonner than another draft pick

Surely that’s not true.

Wonder if it’s just been suggested that gcs would deal good picks to get rid of Bowes and someone has just ran with pick 7 for the clickbait / hype.

Why the * would we ship Bonner off lol.

I would rather keep Bonner.

Bonner > Bowes, and I like Bowes.

I don’t mind Bowes, fairly keen to add him if he came with a free draft pick, but we don’t really need him off the half back flank, and we have lots of options on the wing to develop already.

Think he will look elsewhere where he’s guaranteed more opportunity, especially if he’s looking for midfield time.
Imo we don't need Bonner or Bowes. Bonner is defensively poor and an inconsistent kick coming out of halfback. He may have a future as a winger but we are well stocked in that area. If we get Bowes, it's not because we want him, it's because we'd want pick 7. This board's love for Bonner is staggering. He wouldn't be in any top 8 teams best 22 at all. Yet we persist with him to watch him fail. He's had like 5 good games in his career but aside from that, makes a lot of fans nervous when he has ball in hand

im biggest bonner basher going around, but he's really improved over the last 18 months, he would take over amons roles really easily. The point is he should never have been played so far in defence

Amon played some inside minutes and there's no way in this world that Bonner would be able to do that. He's improved a lot and I agree with that. He's still not in my best 22 though

it depends what you mean by inside minutes, What amon did could easily be done by bonner because amon wasnt the guy on the coalface, he was the guy playing just outside of the coal face so he can receive the ball and deliver it. I think Bonner has much better delivery and is better at reading the ball around packs.

Bonner has better ball delivery, I agree. I am not sure I agree that he's better at reading the ball but even if I agreed on that, I don't think he has any ability to find his way around opposition like Amon was able to (even if at times he shanked it after he did).

Respectfully speaking, I still stand by my opinion (and that's all it is, an opinion). Bonner doesn't serve a huge need in our side, whether it's to Suns or anyone else, he may be getting us decent value in the market. I'd be trading him if he nets is a good return and draft for a position in.need. I could be wrong, but I don't think Bonner will be a consistent best 22 player for us and moving to another team might be win win for him and us.

Bonner will cover Amon next year. Prior to injury this year was a prime mover forward of centre, in our victories after the 0-5 start. Watch the games again.

I am the biggest Bonner detractor, but he was bloody good offensively this year. And I wouldn’t say Amon’s defensive game will be noticed by the average punter.

Amon attracted 4 BOGs as part of his 15 Brownlow votes in ‘22. I can’t see Bonner or anyone else on the list achieving that any time soon I’m afraid.
Let’s see when he is 150 games deep?

I have no doubt he'll be playing in our best 22 next year because he was in Ken's 22 even when he was poor. He's improved now so his free ride will continue

Bonner would likely be better at is as he is so dual sided.

It is worth a try at stages this year.

This must be one hell of a back ended contract to offer pick 7 plus Bowes.
Anyone know exactly how much we are looking here dollar wise.

Its about $650k a year

It has no interest in Matt Crouch.
