Both Taranto and Hopper are set to join Richmond on seven-year deals in what looms as a huge double coup for the Tigers. Taranto was also weighing up interest from Collingwood, while Hopper snubbed the Cats as Richmond is now set to be bolstered by two key additions to its midfield.

It comes as Triple M journalist Jay Clark revealed Port Adelaide could play a key role in unlocking a trade for Jackson.

"Melbourne want a pick inside the top ten from Fremantle and maybe another first-round pick," Clark said on Dead Set Legends.

"Port Adelaide has Pick 8 so I just wonder whether there's a swap between Fremantle and Port Adelaide to help satisfy Melbourne on that Jackson trade deal.

“It could be a shuffling back of Port Adelaide’s first pick potentially.”

Cox and 32 for 8. There you go, there's my ill-thought out prediction.

I love how trade speculation works: a journo’s speculation turns into a story for weeks on end.

We're sliding. We finished 11th, both Hinkley and Jonas have publicly said they don't know why, the only thing we have changed is Carr for Monty and Goldsack for Lokan. We aren't climbing, we'll be sliding. Also, when crowds are not there early in the season, the players that still believe, which I believe is minimal, will start to doubt.
Yes the coach doesn’t know what happened. The captain says they didn’t really try as hard as they should have.

Jonas has more of an idea than Ken.

Apart from Kysaiah Pickett, which will probably not happen, I haven't actually seen any media speculation that really excites me.

After we trade the likely Amon compo pick for Junior Rioli we are not likely to have a Draft pick between #8 and #53 . We have to keep that pick #8 at all costs, if we don't the 2022 Draft is likely to be a non event.

Still a lot of interstate media speculation about Bergmann and Georgiades but both players are contracted until the end of 2023 so any deal would need to have considerable upside for us.

I do not have a great deal of enthusiasm at this stage.

My essential impression with the goings on at Alberton is we will continue to slide into irrelevance those at the top are blindsided to the decay and rot that is present.

It's Rankine type money! o_O
Bowes appears to be between North and Geelong, with the Cats better placed due to what happened with Greenwood and the Kangaroos refusing to part with their future second rounder.

Geelong ready to give up their future first if 7 and 25 are in the deal.

If, we were able to do this deal it means that we would be effectively paying $1.6m split over 2023/24 for a pick 7 and Bowes

Maybe we offer a future second and Freddie (won’t be that far away from Geelong‘s future first) for 7 & Bowes.

Id give up our future second for pick 7 and Bowes...

Pickett will be at Port in 2024 and Melbourne know it. Bit of back scratching happening I suspect In the end port could slide in the first round this year but Pickett will only cost port 1 1st rounder next year even if it's only a pick between 12-18, Melb. Will take it and cut their losses with Pickett.
Don't shoot the messenger but it is not a lay down miser; if Pickett left the Dees to gome home; well, his home is WA not SA.
Watch the Perth clubs come hard for him next year.

It was a heavily back ended contract to assist their salary cap at the time, now they have the opportunity to make the back end someone else's problem.
I know it doesn’t mean much but he didn’t even poll one vote in this years medal.
Back end or front end they can jam it up there rear end.
Better off keeping the 1.7 mil to go towards keeping one of our young players.

Maybe they should be trading out their Football Operations Manager.

Put trade radio on for the first time some nuffie rings up what can we get for Rioli his premiership player underrated played very well in a bottom side.
Silvani I would look at Goargie ffs can't 1 dumb campaigner just say his 28 has been done for using a sports drink in a urine test suspended.
Then gets caught trying to take an once of weed onto a ****ing plane I think you should take whatever you can get 🤷
