I'll say one thing... Some of the "DeSTiNaTiOn ClUb" posts over the last couple of weeks have aged poorly.
Which part?

The part where we can only attract SA boys and fringe blokes and blokes with verified issues?

These aren't the Jeremy Camerons and Patrick Dangerfields of the competition.

Esava would be a bloody good get imo you are just being a grumpy turd.

No offence intended Jimmy, but when you start calling someone grumpy, they must be Mariah Carey level bad! :p

The most valuable player who will be traded this trade period (and probably for the last few trafe periods) wants to come to Port. This is a really, really weird gripe.

Man if JHF wasn't available, I would have loved for us to jump in for Dunkley and go here's pick 8
Imagine that. (It is imagining because it ain't happening)
We tell JHF we're coming back in 12 months, keep our 2023 F1, pick 8 for Dunkley, lower pick combo for Rioli (and Ratagolea but thats wishful thinking), go in for JHF next year with first rounder plus 2024 F1 available, or PSD if North hold firm again.

On ball brigade of Wines, Rozee, Butters, Dunkley, JHF.

(Somebody tell him he's dreaming)

Could be a little too many toppings on that pizza

The problem is that the club is chasing these fringe players to be transformative players to our game.

JHF will be a weapon in time.

But none of these blokes look like they'll deliver the flag in the short term.
Who said that? That is just your views, not the club's.

Fact is, we have some great "transformative" players already, in Wines, Rozee, Butters, Marshall, and Georgiades, that you you can build your team around, and now we will add JHF to that. Then the next tier of A1 players in Burton, Houston, Duursma, SPP, Aliir, Drew, and Burgman. Then you have the exciting youth of Jones, Sinn, Burgoyne, etc.

Player like Rategolea is a gap-filling project player, that fills an important need for a tall back. As is Rioli for our small forward need.

Just get them Ports!

'We're so close, we're so close'

Cue 4 years of not being all that close.

For all those 'transformative' players - the best we could offer was 11th while sitting in 18th and 12th for most of the 2022 season with a relatively healthy list.

Yeah Ratagolea and Rioli aren't to give us an advantage. They are to minimise a disadvantage.

Rhys Matherson from the lions on the cheap? He’s a campaigner but so was Hardwick when he came across. We don’t have any campaigners at the moment.
Hardwick was a premiership campaigner and All oz campaigner in a premiership year. Matherson is just a useless campaigner.
