Collingwood willing to chip in $300k per season to get Grundy off their books.

It's worth asking the question.

So that they can get market value for him in picks. Will want a 1st at a minimum plus 700k per year for a ruckman who hasn't set the world on fire for 2 years while we trade out promising rucks for nothing. I'm going to send goons to your house to beat you up.

Don't trade anyone in that we can't get with a 4th rounder. We need to hit the next few drafts hard for when Kenny finally ****s off into the sunset. Next year is likely to be a top 4 pick if Kenny's still here. Should be absolutely untouchable.
We always give away too much in trades - we actually shouldn't even participate this year

I agree - except for JHF or Pickett - who fit the age bracket

JHF dropped we need to be going hard to get it done this yr. And yes I know Clarkson will change things but need to strike now especially if Bergman wants to go home and Adelaide are all in on Rankine.

Hell no
That’s still 700k a season for a ruck with years left on his contract while at the end of his career. Why the **** tie up our salary cap and lose players/ draft picks covering a position we have going developing players in (and will lose) to achieve what?

We’re not a Brodie Grundy away from winning a gf. All it does is make it harder for us to build around our young core.

Isnt Lycett on ~$600-700k? Would absolutely take that deal
$3m over 5 so 600k. And that deal finishes in 2023 so he’s off the books.
Why would we want to get into a far worse deal

With Hinkley still with a job in 2023
This is the only outcome that will make me happy

1. Bergman (if he requests) + pick 7 for JHF

2. McKay (or equivalent) for 2023 1st round pick

3. DBJ + Amon compensation for Pickett or gun small forward type

Add or give change where required, 3 way trades etc
But net result above!

Selling draft capital, I get, not ideal given Hinkley is on borrowed time, however if it’s for JHF and Pickett type I’m happy given age bracket!

Delusional.

Is there noise that McEntee will get a contract for 2023?

What the *?
Nothing makes sense anymore. He'll probably end up being Maggies captain after Sutcliffe one day.

Georgiades was mentioned in the herald sun as a possible trade.
Has anyone seen that article and what it relates to (I just saw the headline)

I’m not keen on losing Bergman and georgiades.

Wouldn't be surprised if he wanted out with Ken staying. But the HS article is nothing really:

"Port Adelaide is confident it will swat away rival interest in Mitch Georgiades when it comes time to extend the young key forward’s contract.

Georgiades is one of the competition’s most promising developing key forwards but was dropped last week as he rounds out only a modest season.

The third-year big man has booted 19 goals from 17 games this season.

While his omission raised interest around the league, the Power spearhead remains a key plank in the club’s future plans as a long-term replacement for Charlie Dixon.

Port will likely attempt to extend his contract before the 2023 season in a bid to lock away the goal kicker before rivals ramp up any efforts to poach him.

Georgiades, 20, is happy in South Australia after being drafted from Subiaco with the 18th pick in the 2018 national draft."

Hinkley stays forget trading for players. The Draft and as many picks as we can get along development of players for the next coach. Paying a premium for quality players like Dunkley is a waste.
im happy to pay for players that dont cost you picks, dunkley is a need with boak on the way out, its fair enough as long as you dont overpay.
