Do we have any interest in Stefan Martin? Seems like he could come relatively cheap and could also play that forward/ruck role. I guess its a matter of whether he could fit in our forward line, but if we are looking at playing Vick, Riewoldt and Mcguane all in the forward surely we could swap Martin for McGuane?

That was my line of thinking. Our current 2nd ruck (Vickery) just missed half a season with injury. Derickx has looked ordinary at best and Browne is still no guaruntee to be re-rookied is he. We def need something else whether its a project like Nicholls or someone like West or Simpson who have shown a bit and SHOULD be able to step in if god forbid Ivan misses a chunk of time.

what do you mean? FA compo was said from the start it has to be used and cant be banked and is completely different than the compo for out of contracted players the expansion teams could do.

I'm telling you - Post can ruck. No worldbeater but looked better than Graham & Browne for that matter in the couple of games he did it. If we don't trade or delist him then enough of this folly of playing him back, he should at the least be the ruck/forward understudy to Vickery. Don't forget - Elton was also a ruck/forward.(though certainly won't be ready to play ruck at AFL level for a long while yet)

Sadly, apart from the Fev deal, Crazy Vossy isn't half as crazy as his nickname would suggest.

the thing is i still see derickx a better back up than gus. probably not quite as good at tapping the ball but much better around the ground, has better skill and can actually take a grab even bearing in mind the tired brain fade of the gc game.
