Please be aware that the tolerance of anti-trans language on BF is at an all-time low. Jokes and insults that are trans-related, as well as anti-trans and bigoted rhetoric will be met with infractions, threadbans etc as required. It's a sensitive (and important) topic, so behave like well-mannered adults when discussing it, PARTICULARLY when disagreeing. This equally applies across the whole site.

She has written books under a male name though. Whats going on there?

If this test is so non invasive, she should just do it yeah?
Snide, illogical and irrelevant.

This insistence on trying to drag the conversation down to the level of a twitter shitfight needs to stop. You're supposed to set an example.

Rowling has been strangely quiet since around the time Khelif announce legal action against the online abuse she had received

meanwhile the ant trans activists she supports and platforms and retweets are still going and calling Khelif a man

She's even stopped retweeting all the shitheads temporarily

High profile public individual goes quiet due to announcement of legal action.

Not sure it's strange.

All this conspiracy theorising (but da Russians faked da tests!) is just besides the point.
The test - real or not - was irrelevant to the IOC process anyway. They don't do these tests and don't plan to.

I'm trying to recall a previous instance of her doing it though

usually she's like go ahead sue me I'm a billionaire

it could be unrelated

it could also be that JKR is in some actual legal trouble and has been told by her lawyers to STFU

Ah, yup, that's what I said. They've decided not to check whether participants in the female category are actually female.
This is not the case. They go off their home country's determination.

I am sure if a 7 foot competitor in a full beard who had only recently changed their passport from M to F - with no actual transitioning taking place - would not be accepted as a competitor in women's categories, whether or not their passport showed they were female.

Someone will try it, of course.

Ah yes, I'm very sure JKR is super duper concerned that Khelif, from Algeria, made a complaint - likely without naming who it was against - to the French Police, about something said on an American-owned platform, in case they decided to charge her with... something, and it goes to the court of... somewhere. Scary stuff.

There is no chance that Khelif would sue anyone in a civil court for libel. That would require everyone to show their hands.

Surely Joanne hasn't turned over a new leaf and stopped being a transphobe?

Highly recommend listening to the podcast series The Witch Trial of JK Rowling. You misogynists would actually appreciate it, as it's actually quite balanced and fair. There's an episode with an extended interview with ContraPoints which is a real highlight. Might learn something.

Try the one from three years ago:

Again, you tell me i'm wrong only to then repeat what i said.

Sorry, what!?! Why we would exclude her from competing? Because she's tall? I mean, what about Ian Thorpe's big feet? Is that an "unfair advantage"?

So sick of people wanting their narrow standards of femininity reflected in women's sport. Sigh

The Office No GIF

I've never quite seen why a kids book author is seen as such an authority on this subject, it feels a bit like wanting your questions on quantum physics answered by Marnus Labuschange.
Apparently she's responsible for thousands of trans deaths worldwide now, and the media hang off her every word, waiting to amplify it throughout the universe because she's just THAT important.
