We do need a Joel Selwood, yet Josh Kennedy is one of my favourite players.

I rate Mitch Brown for his upside and skill in his first year back from a knee reconstruction.

Unlike Hurley, M.Brown runs a 15 beep and is lightning quick for a man his size.

Brown looked like Waite when he swooped on a ball 60 out and kicked it from 50 on the run. Yet he's a tank and a better kick than Waite at the same age.

Agreed you need a small forward but if you had a pick of any 2 young players in the comp, you could not come close to considering getting Brad Dick.

Sure. I doubt the club would echo my opinion.

I think we certainly need a quality small forward/crumber to compliment a strong and developing spine and midfield.

Left with a choice really between Rioli and Dick, I chose Dick as he provides good defensive pressure like Rioli but is more proficient at scoring goals. You'd also suspect over their careers, Dick will likely be more of a forward pocket then Rioli.

I am pretty happy with a midfield of Naitanui, Swift, Masten, Ebert and Selwood with some other kids and mid-age types rotating through.

I never said he should take Yarran over Dick, i just said that if you had the choice of ANY 2 youngsters in the AFL, surely you would not take Brad Dick.

Joel Selwood - Quite possibly the best young in-and-under midfielder in the competition. Probably the best. Would fit in nicely at the Pies.

Kurt Tippett - Big strong tall forward. Backup ruck for Fraser and Wood.

Cotchin might be a bit leftfield but he offers that half forward midfield role and class that we are missing. Selwood is self explanatory for Essendon as we are not over flowing with great mids.

I love Nicnat, Clark, Tippett and Kruezer but we have planty of talls and key position players. We really need class in the engine room.

I really like the way palmer plays , i think hes been a bit forgotten this year with such an early injury. Selwood needs no explanation, just some full time mids to replace the likes of obree/lockyer when they go. Our on ball brigade would be awesome and really deep.

We probably have more needs like a ruck or another key defender. Love to have these two kids though

Cyril Rioli - Lack a true small forward.

Pears - Need another Key defender for when Glass retires. Gives us the flexibility to use Brown as a key forward, third tall defender or swingman.
