Assange would have been smarter to run to the Russian embassy even russian dissedents dont get sentences as long as western whistleblowers.

The drop from the helicopter is quite short.

You can’t compare that with occasional mutual backscratching in various countries. I suppose you can compare it to Fox News.

RT covering Ukraine is no worse than the ABC on the "climate emergency" and "refugees". State media has long been the most biased type. Hardly surprising due to having money thrown at it regardless of consumer support.

Oh God not this again.

Things not going so well for Putin after the Ukranian election:

Getting very hard for him to sell his nonsensical propaganda when the most open elections in history have just been run. Zelensky even is ethnic Russian, so much for the laughable claims of Putin & Co that Russian speakers were getting "discriminated against" in Ukraine.

Pro Russian candidates did not stand a chance. Donbass residents were invited to vote but had to leave Donbass to do so as the rebels would not allow any Ukranian election voting in their territory. Fair elections obviously do not serve their interests at all, they prefer to impose a military dictatorship over their residents.

Putin's target for now is a frozen conflict which prevents any further Ukraine European integration. He does not give a shit about the poor souls who haven't fled Donbass that still live there.

Really Putin should be pushing for Donbass autonomy within Ukraine and for relations / trading to continue between the 2 nations. What he is doing now is driving Ukraine and Russia further apart then ever seen before in history.

Interesting article:

Looks like the Russians have gone about dismantling the leadership of the DPR and replaced them with more of their puppets. Zakharchenko was killed in a bombing at a café, looking more and more like it was the work of Russian secret services. All posters of him have been completely removed in Donbass, its like he never existed.

Human rights are next to non existent in the DPR:

Most tellingly neither the Russians and/or the rebels allow international monitors in to their prisons where Ukrainian prisoners are held.

International monitors have been allowed full access to all Ukrainian government controlled prisons and/or prisoners.

Safe to say that the Russian invasion of Donbass has done nothing to help the residents at all. Time for Russia to pull up stumps and move on.
