why would they have the u19 premier game on before the u19 south 2 game?

only reason i could think they would do so is to give the premier game first use of the ground

Re: Under 19 Premier Division

i dont think it matters who plays first muff
should be a great game, xaviers hardness vs scotches quickness
who needs to be stopped and why?
sansom ,red head
harangozo ,bull,c mehan
how are the injuries shaping up for each team?

Probably because the South 2 game is a grand final not a prelim. I suppose it's fair enough that they get top billing.

Re: Under 19 Premier Division

Should be an absolutely ripping game between OS and Xavs this Saturday. Scotchies would be hoping for a nice dry day so they can look to use their tall marking forwards in Barnett and Van Den Broek. Xav's would probably like some sting out of the ground to get some advantage from the strong bodies of Nidam and Lees. Either way I'm tipping a ripping game and fancy it may be a close one come the final siren.

Reckon OS will beat OX. Despite the horrible conditions affecting both games last week, the 2nd semi was a far superior game. Take nothing away from OX - great win - I'll put my hand up and say weeks ago I thought Beauy would get past them. I was wrong big time! Conditions suited OX better, and Beauy's running wide game was useless. Given a nice dry day the surfer boys might have put in a better showing! Absolutely smashed despite a few big predictions on the forum.

Here's an interesting Q for the OX boys - if the 1's had got over Collegians and had a week off, would Goss have been allowed to play in the 19s this week???

Any changes for the De La side going into the granny? Didn't see any major injuries in the game so hopefully not.

Agreed on Scotch, will be too strong for Xavs. Their running game and skills will simply prove too much for OX.

Correct.

Ahhhhh don't you love to see Scotch choke and go out in straight sets!!!!

i would have to agree with you MUF..
garfield here,

it makes my ginger fur erect when i look at all the past posts and see how completely wrong every single person is on the forum, old scotch have choked up something extremely special, xavs coming into the game with nothing to lose and scotch being the nancy little boys they are just could not handle the pressure or intensity of the xav troopas.

meow meowwwwwww
i just purr'd three times lol

luff garfield the phat ginger ninja

Great win by the Xavs.

Xavs Vs De La

MATCH UPS? THOUGHTS? ODDS? De La would be obvious favourites but Xavs with nothing to lose.....???

sorry i meant as in de la have been the dominant team all season, undefeated, its theirs to choke. xavs, finished fourth, come home with a wet sail, have had a good year etc

I understand what you mean but i think the old "nothing to lose" quote is just an excuse in the case that a team losses can say well we lost to the best team, but if the best team losses then they have choked. Grand Finals are simple, best team on the day wins. Last year Xavs won an epic semi , both teams went into the grandfinal with minimal changes and de la won...better team on the day. Two years ago, St.Bedes thrashed De La by 70 points in the semi, grandfinal day De La had the game toasted as the underdogs then Bedes ended up wining by under a kick i think, Better team on the day will win, The team that steps up, because when your out on the field, you forget that you have come from fourth and that was a good effort or that you havnt lost yet, these thoughts dont cross your mind.

Beaumaris and Old Xaverians major melee, Under-19 Premier on September 4.
Both clubs accepted prescribed penalty. Beaumaris $200, Old Xaverians $300.

I think the fines system needs to be fixed.... how Beaumaris who started the melee get off better then OX

Thoughts?

The amount depends on your 'prior convictions’. If a team has recent fines for melees then the amount is increased. It seems the degree of culpability is not generally a consideration. No mercy shown from the VAFA when it comes to revenue raising!

Slow day at work/uni?

Also amazed that the top 2 goal kickers in the league only polled a combined 5 votes!!!

And that B.Goss didnt poll for kicking 10!!!

This is why club B & F’s are a far better indication of a players worth.
DLS B & F was tie for 1st between Tom and Ben Humphrey (2 brothers - has that ever happened before?) Tom was probably the most consistent member of the team across the year but did not poll one vote in the league B & F. Allan from UB kicked a few bags but gets just 1 vote for the year and Goss gets 0 for a 10 goal game. Please ..……

Max VDB and Ed Clinch are top line players and deserve recognition but unless you play in the midfield you can forget about winning a comp B & F.

Thoughts?

There is no way beaumaris started the fight, that is a fact.
