Brodie Smith for us.

Played nearly every game this year and has really stepped up in the back end of the season. Was one of our best against Sydney. Built like a twig but is a powerful if unorthodox kick.
+1 on this.
And to the guy that said Heppell, I hope you mean Heppell of 2011 and not Heppell of 2012.

People need to stop mentioning gaff. I think he is valued quite highly. Is a gun though

From my team it would be broadbent. Looks 40 but was drafted in 08 and is probably one of the better performers this year from that draft
Not highly enough. People need to remember he's still only a second year player, as well as Darling. Some people still rate Heppell higher than him, therefore he is undervalued.

Cale Hooker.

He’s 23yo, was a late pick, has played 60 games, and has been our no.1 key defender for two years, taking the best forward every week.

Yet all most people remember is his inability to run down Buddy Franklin... in his first game back from a hamstring, mind you.

He looks ungainly so attracts criticism. His successes are ignored, his failures amplified.

Ahhh, the Schoenmakers syndrome.

Speak of young Ryan - the hawks would be stuffed without him. Huge value to our team.

I was utterly shocked by how good defensively both Laidler & Henderson were. Was really really impressed by both of them and definitely left a gaping whole in your backline.

TBH losing Laidler and Henderson for the majority of the year plus Jamison for 10 weeks is the thing that really hurt Carlton most this season. You can sort of cover for a guy like Murphy or Carazzo or Simpson but losing three big defenders really hurts.

Hopefully all 3 get themselves right for next season.

In regards to the OP's question I think Mitch Robinson's value doesn't get recognised by oppostion supporters. He may not have the best skills and isn't the brightest spark but he si very mucha barometer for the blues.

Schoenmakers has arguably been one of our most important players of the year. Without him we really have no one who can take the role, and whilst he has had some bags kicked on him the majority of games he has done very well yet it goes unnoticed or atleast without praise. He's a kid taking on men and for the most part doing a good job at it.

Liam Shiels has been flying under the radar. Was an accumulator last year getting heaps of possies, now he is playing a shutdown role and has done some good things. Hard at it and pretty fierce in the tackle.

Alex Johnson for Sydney is great as well, still don't know how he didn't get the Rising Star nomination that he deserved. Daniel Talia is also a gun defender and will be sorely missed against Fremantle.

Nick Naitanui. Rarely gets any press...:)

Does Scott Selwood count? Starting to become more recognised but the spotlight focuses a lot more on Shuey and Naitanui who are flashier. Selwood is a big chance to take out our B&F this year.

Masten is a little undervalued also. Took a long time to get going but is starting to become a player who really adds something to the side rather than filling one of the last few spots.

Naming young Geelong players feels like cheating, so here are some young opposition players who have impressed me this year who I haven't heard much about:

Brandon Ellis (This kid has so much composure for a first year player. Going to be a star)
Steven Morris (How is this guy not a cult figure already? Probably my favourite player outside of the cats)
Clancee Pearce
Sam Shaw (Where do Adelaide keep finding these solid key defenders?!)
Jack Steven
David Ellard
Josh Green
Luke Russell
Ben Howlett
Michael Walters

Don't agree with all of these (and isn't Howlett like 25? Not exactly young), but definitely agree with Josh Green. Kid is a jet.

From my mob; based on your criteria:

Leigh Adams - 24 years and 5 months
Sam Wright - 22 years old
Lindsay Thomas - 24 years and 6 months - i know this is contreversial, but even i underrate him. Always in top few goalkickers for north, was rookie drafted, i will admit his drama needs to stop, ie falling to ground, diving, silly behaviour, frees against etc

Uh oh. You guys are in trouble...
