OK and only my observations:

To state that O'Brien is scared is just not right. Scared of failure maybe, but not scared of the contest.
O'Brien will back himself even after a bad mistake. This is a very good trait to have. No going back into his shell.
O'Briens kicking is actually quality. I know that amongst the young guys, we cite Schumacher here also, but it's chalk and cheese.
O'Brien will take the game on, if allowed off the leash. We will see this later on.

Something hasn't quite fit this year to date, but I saw enough last year to know we haven't a 'mistake' on our hands. Far from it.

i feel like this sums up a lot of our young players. would love to see the shackles come off re game plan. run, gun, first option etc

As frustrating as the loss against the Gold Coast was, I think the club is on the right track. We've been really competitive so far this year (apart from the first quarter hiccup against Richmond). Compare the first four performances this year to last year and I can see clear improvement. Our defence has been really good. McKay and McGovern seem to be working well up forward. Wins will come.

I think we will reluctantly trade one of our tall gems in the next 2-3 years.
At one end you've got: Jones, Macreadie, Weitering, Plowman, BSOS, Goddard (Williamson is listed at 189cm, not short either) and potentially McGovern. At the other end, you've got JSOS, Kerr, McKay, Curnow, McGovern, TDK (yes, I know he's a ruckman) and Cripps as well.

You cannot have such depth in KPP player stocks (let alone such diversity and quality) and keep them all, not without sacrificing other components of your team. In all probability, we'll lose players from both our back six and our front six, because there's simply no way to play all of those players in a single AFL team.

From our ‘prized’ talls if we are going to trade any I see it being Charlie.

SOS will only consider a trade if he can extract overs, otherwise Jones will become a backup for the young backline, Goddard will be delisted

TDK will replace MK, Kerr a casually, Jack to be a backup utility, although I see him as making best 22 once Simmo, Murphy and Thomas are done

All of my opinions are popular, or should be, so I have nothing for this thread.

Shows my current level of boredom to be even looking at it.
I'll tell you when you're bored.........

See, I still think that Jack will be similar to Brad Sewell at Hawthorn; he'll be very frequently in the bottom six players of the side, yet he'll do a more than acceptable job most if not all of the time. I also think his go will be as a 20-25 possession inside mid/high half forward leadup target.

It would be a real shame to lose Kerr. He's always struck me as a smart player who wanted an AFL career. But, like I said, you cannot keep everyone.

I could see it, probably one that could attract overs, while being someone that might not reach the heights promised.

If TDK comes on, we'd still be very well stocked with him, Gov and McKay.
Can't see it being Charlie. He's too versatile with huge x-factor. See him as being a real game changer for us down the line.
