When you're looking at the teleprompter you ARE looking into the camera, That's why its deceptive.

Michele learnt how to do it from Barry.
Michelle is an articulate, educated, experienced attorney, was an associate dean of student services at the Uni of Chicago plus held other positions in public office so has experience in public speaking especially when you believe in what you are saying and are passionate about it. This can not be learned. Speaks truth to power.

Strong performance, one of the best.

Don't think you really know how it works.

Oh it is double 'll' not single 'l'.

Just posted in the Trump thread, might provide further insight as to people's thinking. Including some Republicans.

Shame it's always former and yet when they are there they defend and help the evil orange man destroy the nation, but then once they are no longer there they undermine and...what's this? He now works for google and is dealing in politics with the never Trumpers? Say it aint so this time I was almost a believer that Trump is destroying America.

Chicago1, did you watch it? What are your thoughts?

My fav part:
Michelle Obama: "Donald Trump is the wrong president for our country. He has had more than enough time to prove that he can do the job, but he is clearly in over his head. He cannot meet this moment. He simply cannot be who we need him to be for us. It is what it is." :D

No I wasn't aware of that "fact".

The more you know :thumbsu:

They even rolled back transparency rules around reporting of said civilian deaths - I'm sure Donnie was doing better than Obama in this particular area and just decided people didn't need to hear about it :tearsofjoy:

What is the substance of a politician? Their policies and how they follow through with them I would have thought, from that measure Trump is the most substantive politician we've seen in decades. Biden actually is also quite a man of substance, the substance is toxic corruption but its still substance.

Would have thought a semblance of empathy for the people he's leading might be up there in the substance stakes.

Its funny though - I remember repeal and replace of Obamacare and Mexico funding the wall being the 2 biggest ticket items on the campaign trail. Hows the health policy coming along, any sign? And have Mexico come through with the goods yet? I was hoping for a big ceremony somewhere along the border with the Mexican president presenting one of those giant novelty cheques.

She was a real scold for the first half of that speech - uncharacteristic of her demeanour when FLOTUS.

No warmth, no inclusiveness, projected, none. Quite a misjudgement imo.

you support no funding for bushfire victims because their state voted democrat?

You do know that civilian deaths from US air strikes have increased under Trump's admin, yeah? :drunk:
I'm trying to give you some credit, Bourbsy, but you keep throwing it back in my face.

The only articles that wrote the misinformation you have shared above referenced research by a shell organisation owned by these guys:

Drone deaths are wayyy down since Trump took over and erased ISIS in his first 6 months. Common sense really.

Unlucky what you got was them keeping more drugs and illegals in their own country. Huge savings mexico is paying the difference, but you know even mexico is improved thanks to Trump, much harsher crack down on drug cartels than previous admins and new trade deal. Truly "empathy" is what you care about, bringing jobs back to people with no hope isn't empathetic, criminal justice reform releasing low level drug possesion prisoners? No empathy here no sir.

As opposed to, the party of riots and looting who are truly the party of "empathy"

True, it is amazing how Trump manages to so thoroughly alienate everyone who works for him. Has there been a single ex employee with even a midling take on their former boss? Surely there must be, I can't think of one though.

I never even heard of this guy before, but if you watch the video he says his job was actually to focus Trump on issues like security and safety of the nation, and routinely had to advise Trump that things he was requesting were impossible or illegal - so I'm not sure how much help he provided to orange man in "destroying the nation".

Not my take in any case, just responding to a question from Flowers By Irene.

I don't support lies the words of 1 former employee aren't worth much, show me the actual facts and I'll join you in this criticism.

But be weary what you show because otherwise you might find some fake news about Trump not agreeing to over fund a city looking for a bailout.

Sarah Sanders? She speaks very highly, the key prefix is ex- being they usually have a reason either Trump's or their own that they are no longer there. This guy cashed out then started criticising, damages his credibility pretty significantly also waited till just before an election to make the comments.

M8, likewise - we've been through this! You simply must get off the superdrys, I fear its effecting your memory. Must have provided you the other report (the non Soros one) confirming an increase on at least 3 occasions now!

But just for shits and giggles, why do you think the transparency reporting was axed?

must be fun worshipping the orange god, anything you dont like - fingers in ears and scream "fake news"

Oh yeah, I hear you're fine as long as you live in a state that voted for him :tearsofjoy:

I thought we were talking about election promises? You forgot to update us on the health plan.

There ya go, I knew there would have to be one.

One! :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

Its the gift that keeps on giving! Hours of fun and activity.

Can be done for each and every one of the literal procession at this point. Dozens of individual statements about Donnie's concerning behavior? Not a worry, obvious disgruntled former employees with an axe to grind all of 'em, including the irreproachable 4 star general who is respected by pretty much everyone he's ever worked with :tearsofjoy:

Gee Republicans having a hard time picking out what to criticise about the convention. Rubio has tried of course forgetting that the Republicans had Clint Eastwood, Jon Voigt, James Woods, Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbonne, Scott Baio, and Ted Nugent.

No I offered you a chance, but warned you to be weary of fake news. Like Minneapolis asking for $500m USD for estimated $100m damages, then saying Trump wont help us recover from the disaster we caused! oops they don't mention that they caused it.

MB he just lowered drug prices suppose that's worthless, he just got blocked in the senate by the sentient brain tumor and his RINO mates on healthcare and now has a democrat majority blocking every step. This is the crux of the problem with you specifically, you pretend to be nuanced and considered in your opinions and yet you never give Trump any credit or accept that some things are outside his control.

Crikey, you're right about the superdrys, my memory is shot. I vaguely recall us already going over this.

I'm actually heading to a 2 week detox program tomorrow. Although that doesn't guarantee that my standard of posting will improve, I'll have a gutfull of valium and whatnot given to me by the nurses that send me just as loopy. Wish me luck though for a successful recovery, I've been having 14 tins a night lately, shit's expensive m8.

Which drug prices did he lower? Did this help fuel the current opioid epidemic?

I enjoyed watching it. The format seemed very precise and professional.

Compares not at all to the first convention I watched in 1964 from the Cow Palace in San Francisco. AuH2O

Haha yep, I assume the 'actors and celebrities' line also applies to reality tv stars, great self awareness there :tearsofjoy:
