You are no doubt correct, however the fact that this General went out of his way to state the military is loyal to the constitution and not to a king or dictator when he could have said nothing at all is a massive statement.
If he had talked about voter fraud its panic station time.
Yeah, no doubt it was a massive rebuke. From the highest ranking military office in the US as well.

He had to be careful in his words because he could've just as easily be court marshalled for saying anything against the president who is his superior. Even though he's been to Military Academy I'm confident Trump probably wouldn't even know that is the case.

Not that I'm one to overrule a General of the United States army on things that happen in the military, but the military oath does explicitly mention obeying the orders of the President.

Wiki
Army.mil

I, (state name of enlistee), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. (So help me God)."

Is obeying orders the same as supporting and defending? I would think technically they are actually different things and the oath to support and defend the constitution is first and foremost. It probably doesn't get given much widespread thought because in practice they have always amounted to the same thing - defending the constitution on orders of the President.

There's a morbid curiosity about me that would love to see how it plays out if Trump just unilaterally declared himself President for Life (he won't - at least I'm 99% sure of it). The House of Representatives, the Senate and the Supreme Court are supposed to be able to prevent that from happening, but in any coup if the person taking over has large enough military support, it will happen. Trump wouldn't have the military support though as they know they are essentially instigating a civil war.

Trump knows it’s over, it’s all just a scheme because the base loves it and he gets to fleece money out of them for a few more weeks or month.

Though yes the idea of Trump being dragged out by secret service does have a lot of appeal as a television event.

The instigators of the violence were overwhelmingly ANTIFA and BLM. Its all over social media. Not debateable. They arrived at the Trump march en mass to cause trouble and bashed fu** out of a bunch of innocent folk. Some of the hotter headed types retaliated. I expect captain healing and unity will get involved shortly to diffuse the situation.

Captain of healing and unity? Trump?

Someone needs to get it into his head that if he gets himself escorted out of the White House while Biden is getting sworn in, it would completely scuttle the ratings for the inauguration. Even more so if he gets escorted kicking and screaming.

“It’s all over social media. not debatable”. This statement says everything we need to know about you (and Trumpies in general), Ballsy.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled 5-2 that a Trump campaign ballot processing observer in Philadelphia has no right to stand any particular distance, and that it's up to counties in the state to decide where poll watchers can stand.

It's a significant loss for the Trump campaign at a moment where the legal strategy to block Biden's win and undermine the election results has been crumbling and in its final throes.

The state high court's ruling overturns an earlier decision that the Trump campaign called a major win, even while it affected no actual votes in Pennsylvania. But that small win has propelled the Trump campaign in reason days to argue that vote counts across the state have been unfair and prompted them to push suspicions of fraud.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has rejected the Trump campaign's claim that Republicans lacked access to Philadelphia's vote count proceedings.

The ruling was 5-2 against the campaign.

The 2 decenting Judges did so because they believed the Case should never have even been heard
Someone might need to reach out to Poseidon to cancel the Kraken.
