If we need home ground advantage to beat the bottom side , 3 years into a rebuild , our football department has serious issues. . Which I agree is currently the case . To rectify this the club believes it need more expenditure which I am happy to wear .
Agree with all this RP sadly..Just wish we could get more dollars by winning enough games to play finals.
Imagine the windfall if we were to play & beat an Essendon or St Kilda in an elimination final.75,000 members may have been achievable next year...All i can say is it Hurts so much because we Love them so much..I have never been so gutted after a loss though i must say.

Feel your pain , however to see the results of something you have to invest in it . Winning that game may have assisted us in making finals . Personally thought our hopes went down the shitter once we had a midfielder unavailable , which was inevitable . I like the fact we are invested in the future which is when we'll be good enough to win it . Would rather lose this and have the money to spend on the footy department so that if we get an obstical on the eve of a GF/ finals series , we are greater equipped to handle it .

Watched the last 55 seconds again. Why? Paul Roos highlighted the awfulness of it all on On the Couch.
I am scarred for life from this.
I hope Dustin Martin and Daniel Jackson felt as sick as I did and still do in the pits of their stomachs for their stupidity and selfishness.

Haha I was wanting Martin's and Jackson's blood a few hours after watching it for the first time to Tugga . It's all part of the therapy . Misses is still tip toeing around after a slightly unwarranted Sunday morning outburst .

Understand & Agree can't argue with any of that .We have obviously invested in our future with the suspension to Dusty & selling these games i just hope they both bear the fruit we all desire.
I hope the pain of saturday night is worth it & we spend the money wisely hopefully we can land a big fish through free agency & i hope Dusty learns his lesson & understands the massive privilige he has to wear the Tiger Jumper.I hope he understands how important he could be to our future success & not waste his talent.

I'm usually pretty easy going. I like to think nothing much fazes me in real life and other than selfish, stupid drivers, I am pretty Ok with anything.
But I am still traumatised by Saturday. I still feel sick to the core. Losses have hurt me before. But no loss has made me feel sick to my stomach on the Monday night afterwards. You know what? I will feel sick tomorrow too.

Anyone here follow rugby league and in particular the Sydney Roosters?
On Anzac Day this year, they surrended a 10 point lead to the Dragons and got overhauled in the final three minutes. Tonight they were 10 points ahead of South Sydney and conceeded two tries in the final two minutes to lose the game. Almost impossible considering the clock doesn't stop for a conversion kick.
That is the equivalent (actually, probably a bit more dramatic believe or not) of what happened to us on Saturday, not once, but twice in the same season.

How's Roos having a go at Tuck. He kicked to a bloke who dropped the easiest mark not in Afl history but in any grade of footy.
There would be a 1000 country reserve players that would mark that 1000 out of a 1000. But no Tucky is in trouble because he should know how much time is left blah blah. Sheehan pipes up with shouldn't kick it to a 2nd gamer.. Come on even it was his second game in is whole life he should have marked it.

I feel the same Tugg and feel cheated .
After very very good performances against quality opposition I thought the days of being completely out of control of the game / tempo was gone .
It was scary the lack of resistance we gave and brought back bad memories and shattered what confidence I had started to gain that those days were over .

I'm a bit the same, usually I get over a loss pretty quickly but i am still shocked. I can't watch any footy show and probably won't all week because I just don't want to relive those last few minutes. Just absolutely shattered.

Do yourself a favour and avoid watching it , it's even worst when you know what's about to happen !
Someone sent me a youtube vid via email of an Indian guy electrocuting himself while walking on top of a train and touching the overhead wires. The email explicityly stated, that watching it will traumatise you. But of course, human nature means that only drags us in more. I watched it and yep, it was traumatising alright.
Watching the last quarter today was worse.

Or..... Maybe Hardwick should have a better understanding of how long a match has to go and put his best centre clearance players in there.

I know I would have preferred Tuck and Cotchin over Grigg and Conca. But hey, it was only basically our season on the line.
Your an idiot.

You really think, that with all the extra coaches, and clocks, and is watch, and the clock at the ground, he had no idea what-so-ever that it might be the last play of the game?
What more do you want him to do? Run on the ground personally and drag a player off for Cotchin?

Same tugg.. Hoping to feel better today.. Not the case :(

yes we had 10 players out, yes we effectively turned a home game into an away fixture, yes it was going to be hot and humid. But what worried me most before the game on Saturday was seeing Daniel Jackson and Kingy on Roar vision. They looked like they were having a great old time, like, hmm let me think.... yes, that's it, it was like they were on holidays!

I really thought after last years debacle that we'd take this game seriously. After watching that video I was worried.

What I can't understand is why on earth is a suspended player was given that gig (god knows we have plenty of injured players who could have been handed the Microphone). What sort of penalties are the suspended players given by the club (are they docked pay - or fined internally? anything?) Injuries happen and we have to live with that, but suspensions especially for consistent repeat offenders are just not needed. I know he's in the leadership group, but I'd argue that he shouldn't have been in cairns at all. He should have been watching the game with fans at PRO. (That might have made him think twice before getting himself suspended again!).

Don't get me wrong I don't really like the job the club is doing with it's communications, but for ####'s sake what message are you sending when suspended players become the host.

Am I being unreasonable here? I'd also like to know why Dusty was flown up there but didn't watch the game.

You know Kingy is injured right? And did this really need it's own thread?? There's 50 of them about the game on saturday and about the suspensions and even about roar vision. In the past few days there has been at least 30 threads created that could be merged. It is ridiculous.

Sorry Not having a go at Kingy. Actually thought he was good and had no problem with him doing it.

Apologies for the new thread. I hadn't seen anything about the suspended players, Mods please move/merge if you like.

So true. And allot of these decisions are the line coaches anyway. Leppa should have had the backs pushing right up bla, bla, blah. Hindsight is amazingly accurate in situations like this.

Wang, tug, RP, R is God listen to uncle pj. Its time to let it go.
North Melbourne awaits. :thumbsu:
