So Kathy Nagle has been lauded for her approach regarding governance on the Board... Meanwhile the hospital which she is the CEO of is about to go bust.



Dare I say this in the eyes of many voters is going to make her candidacy untenable..

This has far more to do with the way health funds screw private hospitals than Kathy Nagle's governance.

I was asked about who I was voting for at a city tram stop on Saturday just past. A lady saw my PAFC tattoos and commented you must be a "die hard" and asked who I was voting for.

I find this news staggering. Western Community offers a wide range of services and you would think it would be a viable concern in this age of medical shortages. The waiting list for a GP appointment, if you are registered with the practice, is as much as a month in some cases and for public patients the wait for elective surgery can be years so how is this allowed to happen? The Heath System is in crisis both nationally and on a State to State basis. To the SA Government's credit they have provided interim funding but I suspect it will take more than 1M to straighten things out.

This is an alarming development but I am not sure about the connection with Warren Tredrea?

Given Kathy Nagle isn't even standing for re-election the financial plight of the Western Hospital has zero to do with Tredrea's candidacy.

Update:

I called the Club this morning. They assured me that my memberships have been split into separate names and that it is on their revised spreadsheet which corpvote will be using to email us in the next day or so.

If I don't have an updated email by Thursday arvo I'll be giving them another call.

Tredrea and Abernethy are being interviewed for a small segment on 10 news tonight if anyone's interested.

It was the medical professionals who invested mega dollars that saved the 'community hospital' from closing as it was bankrupt.

Close friends were directly involved.

But I agree with Steve Dore, it's got nothing to do with the election.

As Rexie J posted above, the hospital was bankrupt and a group of specialists and surgeons pitched in to save it from closing. A good friend of mine being one.

Huge positive for me! One of them, a guys who sucks up to Koch & Hinkley, the other, a guy who was willing to stand up for what he believed was right. Sacked by his employer, vilified by the press, and attacked from every corner by the public. All for something he decided personally to do, not preaching what others should do!

Perfect person to march into the maelstrom that awaits him in the Kock-led boardroom.
