This isn't far wrong except that we get to keep Beams whom we rate higher than the picks. If you had a contracted player that was wantaway you wouldn't go under your own valuation. You didn't want to trade a player so an agreement couldn't be achieved, not that unfair really.

Yeah if you read you will notice I included Beams in my assessment see "disgruntled employee"

Even if you don't get Beams, your club should be applauded by sticking to its guns, and not compromise its integrity in rebuilding going forwards.

What Collingwood fans seem to fail to realize that Brisbane was totally pillaged in last year's trade period (which luckily may turn out to be a blessing in disguise with the fabulous kids you drafted from the go home 5) but The Lions (led by Swanny) have had to make a tough stand and say, 'WE WILL NO LONGER BE BUNNIES FOR OTHER CLUBS TO RAID'

I think Al Christensen and Mitch Robinson will be fabulous additions to your club.

Collingwood has played a pretty straight bat through this whole affair, not sure why you would think that the deadline is for show. Brisbane will probably keep putting in offers but active negotiations have ceased and I don't see Collingwood being interested in reopening them, there's no point.

You've got a real shit sandwich on your hands. You've got too emotionally invested in "winning" the trade and getting a player that the club was never going to give up (and in all likelihood had no inclination to go to the Pies) that you can't see the real conundrum you have on your hands.

Man, even with their meaningless deadline, Collingwood still had 6 days to tap up a Lions player and convince them to come to the self-proclaimed greatest club in the land. Not one coconut fell from the tree. What does that tell you.

Can't say it enough... the ONLY deadline is Thursday 2pm.

If Rocky had a sick dad and was under contract, would most of us accept Pick 5 and 25. I rekon we would take that in a heartbeat, especially if we were to get nothing next year. Which is what is going to happen next year.
