All this talk about trading Lance, Lappin & Campo......Geez get a grip.......If we do get some nice draft piclks (Priority or not) there needs to be a few older/leader type players left at the club to guide/teach them and for them to look up to. We have some very very talented kids at the moment. (eg Fisher, Simpson, Walker, Waite, Carrazo,Russell, Bentick) and these kids are learning from the older players.

Kouta probably only has 1 maybe 2 years left in him......We have been spoilt by our past success and too many people want an immdeiate resurection of the good old days.......it takes time, and its not going to happen just because we get a couple of kids who can play.

Make sure we have a nice blend and mix of talented youth and experienced minds. Getting rid of Lance, Lappin and Campo will do nothgin but make our journey for success longer and tougher.

We were severly punished with the salary cap breach....our legs were chopped out from under us......we need to learn how to stand up again.

What is Lance and Campo going to teach the young players?

Lance can teach how to turn up overweight at the start of the pre season and having to go to fat farms. To be fit enough 1 year out of the last 4. Make sure you play well when the next contract is about to be negotiated.

Campo can teach how to dive. Gather cheap kicks and be completely unaccountable in the midfield. Campo can also show the younger players how to deal with taggers be repeatedly getting suspended and giving free kicks away.

They are NOT the examples that need to be shown to the younger players. Experience is 1 thing but not if those experienced players are the ones with the attitude problem and are not professional enough.

agree with this. Our leaders have been pox this year. Wouldn't mind the big job going to someone younger next year.

Every player has their downfalls and it is easy for others to point the finger, highlight and dwell on them when things are though. But it is these players we need.

Lance has one of the smartest footy brains going around and Campo has years of experience in the midfield and now showing his character in the backline.

Another so called expert who just likes to concentrate on the negatives.......we all have them!!!!!

Putting Simpson and Bentick into the team has been wrong. Moving Campo to the back pocket and Lance as a loose man down back and leaving Waite at CHF is killing these young guys.

Who is going to show them the way? Who is going to help Bentick out as he gets monstered the last 3 weeks. I felt sorry for the kid. Simpson is not up to it either. He is soft and weak and does not tackle.

Lets get Campo and the rest back in the midfield and Lance back to CHF. That worked very well and had us on 10 straight wins? right?

Our young players dont need the experience of the older players. They are the ones holding them back. Soon as Denis brought them in Carrazzo and Bentick to midfield. Simpson to the wing. Fisher to hf flank and Waite to CHF we are suddenly a team.

Funny that.

I think you need to read what you write as you contradict yourself!!!!!

And by the way....have yo useen any of the games in the past 4 weeks.....Simpson has been brilliant and one of the best tacklers in the side and Bentick is tough nuggety under player

It is called being sarcastic mate. You really need to read it again.
Simpson getting a rising star nomination and Bentick also might have twigged to u that I was taking the ********. Maybe even the 10 straight wins might have given it away. :D

Agreed.. only Kouta has shown the type of example that would benefit our younger players.

Talk about Campo's lack of accountability and Lance's form is well justified.

what about Nick Stevens ? Has been good this year, and it at the right age and maturity level to show the young players how to progress

You idiot.

If you actually watch Whitnall - try and keep an eye on him for a game or two - he actually directs the younger players. You know that young man at CHF at the moment - Jarrad Waite, well, Lance regularly talks to him at breaks and when he (Lance) is up forward he directs them into the right positions.

So your comment is just brainless. Lance has helped the guys like Waite and Fisher with their positioning in the forward line.

Whitnall should be Carlton's next captain. Since he has gone back in the backline, he has been in our best most weeks. He doesn't do the wrong thing, listens and he also acts.

Now Campo, yes he does carry on a bit etc etc etc. But, one thing he can teach the younger guys that not many else can is how to do 10 or so pre-seasons, train hard, work hard etc. Since he has gone into the backline he is began something, something that we need.

Cheers mate. Go to training like I have been. There is a reason that Lance is not signed.
Campo and Lance are the first 2 off the training track each session.

You refute Campo getting suspended and not being accountable?
You refute Whitnall being overweight for the last 3 years until now in the last season of his contract.

Pointing at another bloke so he can pick him up instead of Lance is hardly leadership. It is passing the buck.

I think your confusing some of these young fellas, as usually when someone uses sarcasm they don't follow up with what they actually meant as well. hense the inference of a contradiction.

Don't fool yourself buddy. Campo and Lance are still bludging down back just like they did when they were playing forward or in the midfield.

Yes they are. Which is exactly the point I have made in numerous posts on the topic and in this thread if you care to read.

sorry mate got you mixed up with someone else. You are right on the money about whitnall and Campo.

Na thats a cop out. You cant trade trade trade. There still needs to be a balance. You say Lappin, Whitnall and Camporeale are bad with the young players, a bad influence on the club or whatever. Have you asked Jarrad Waite, Brad Fisher, Andrew Walker, Adam Bentick, Bret Thornton, etc this? Maybe they like these guys around them, maybe they think they're good for their footy. We dont know. You blokes need to stop shoving your opinions down everyones throats. You dont have all the facts, neither do we so just leave it at an opinion and that will do. Im sick of listening to your "Im right and your wrong" crap - did you guys even play decent footy?
