Watch out for more Sydney Salary Cap squeeze next week, some Academy critics, someone will probably even complain about cola…

I am not saying Parker wont come back in, but the midfield is better without him in the as a leader

he was too slow last year

i think he should be more forward and less mid when he returns

geez mcinerney is tough ... and classy ... didn't star but absolutely did shine
heeney best, again!
warner, gulden, campbell, blakey, roberts, florent ... the big three forwards all stood up when they had to (the criticism is too harsh) and showed what potential they have
and then there's mccartin (and melican!) ...
it was generally agreed over the past few years that we needed a genuinely good ruck and a key defender
we have grundy, and now it's fair to say we have tom mccartin ... i reckon that experience playing alongside his brother is paying off, he looks a serious presence now
and yeah, melican really good under pressure

but as a team, we smashed them, should've been 10 goals plus ... absolutely outran and outclassed the defending premiers on the night they presented/unfurled their flag, and we stole their thunder

there were big questions coming into this season, and we all wondered how we'd emerge from the first two games against two of the best sides ...
getting a 2-0 start is a fantastic platform in itself, but to do it this way, to tough it out when not playing well last week, to the all-round improvement and a dominant win tonight ...

and yes, a friday night win makes every other game on the weekend enjoyable

That's gotta be close to the best performance I've seen from us...ever. Simply other than some goalkicking it felt like we could do no wrong. To take on the Premiers and make them look like bottom feeders is not something you see every day. Other than maybe Grundy and Hayward I think everyone played amazing. The midfield already looks really impressive and that's before adding Parker, Adams and Mills to it.

Will this be the standard going forward? I don't know, but anything close to it and we're going to be extremely tough to beat.

I like him forward very reliable kick at goal we will still need his grunt against deep midfields tho

Absolutely, but he isnt the guy we need being midfielder 1 anymore

I see people saying Mills goes back

I think its time for Mills and Heeney to carry the mids, they are in their peak prime

You f#####g beauty!!!!!

I didn't think we had a hope in all honesty. Still in Greece and just wandering around the Acropolis when my daughter sent me message - just a screen shot of the final score!!!

Again I say, I freaking love this team ❤️❤️❤️

If we lose in two weeks when I'm home again, I'd better come back to Greece for the rest of the season!

What an emphatic win, shades of 2022 came back. Our pressure and ball movement were elite. We carved them up and were able to control the game so well when we had ball in possession. Heeney BOG again, so clean in traffic and his work ethic in the guts and attack was game changing.

McCartin and Melican were brilliant, this has to be the duo from now on. Midfield were fantastic and just our overall ability to force turnover and move it end to end was fantastic. Tougher around the footy as well, Warner & Rowy were immense with their physicality. Hard and tough on the inside and classy on the outside.

Everyone played their part tonight so well I could go on. McDonald's presence was much better with 8 marks, our intercepting game was solid, overall a dominant performance. Could've won that by 10 goals.

Before the season I felt if we could somehow start 2-0 we could gain some huge momentum heading into the next few weeks. Fantastic win, we look so much more mentally and physically tougher too. Lets continue to build go bloods.
