Again, you can see the confidence he is starting to play with. He is using some of that explosive speed we have all heard about. Even something as simple as running around the back and getting a handball in the back pocket, shows he is confident. Last year and the first 6-7 weeks of this year he would have jogged to the next contest, now he wants the pill in his hand.

Needs to continue to work below his knees, if he can get rid of the 1 or 2 fumbles per game it will again make him better.

Showed massive upside today.

Seems to have a very high top speed but not so much explosive acceleration. Feels like you need the latter much more than the former in the modern game, but maybe something he can work on with training

He does seem to lack the power to break tackles and get free in tight. But I’d also put Kelly in that category as well, without the top end speed.

I think he showed a lot in the last couple of weeks to suggest he could be a very good player. Decent inside and damaging on the outside. Could see him being the handball receive out of stoppage.

He gave Soligo (who is a speed merchant) maybe 3 or 4 meter moving head start, with Chesser starting from still, and caught him within 30m. I think that's explosive enough.

Out in the open over 30 metres

He’s not a player who is (yet???) able to drive out of congestion with his legs. He doesn’t have the explosive power over 2-3 steps to release himself.

You can still carve an impressive career without that imo, and we arguable already have a few with Reid, Hewett and Yeo.

The comment is valid, but I think isn’t really going to have too much of a negative effect on our midfield post Yeo/Kelly.

Soligo didn’t finish top 10 in the sprint test at the combine (10th place was basically 3 sec) and is sub-180 cm, so I doubt he’s that fast in a straight line. is certainly agile.

As mentioned, it’s the ability to break through and get separation out of stoppages that is more important for mids, but if he’s playing HBF or wing permanently his top speed will obv be useful.

That chase was outstanding.

Off balance, giving up 5m on a very quick bloke and he just put the foot down and closed the gap in seconds.

Criminally underrated the athletic profile required to do that.

Jez very quiet this week

The chase down tackle plus the bounce handpass gives him twice as many highlights as Simon Tunbridge.

Long may it continue!
