Pretty crappy 3 vote game really.

When is the last time we had a 10th game like that from a mid? Dangerous forward. Won plenty of ground ball despite a slight frame. Kicking was very good in general. Clearly a cut above the dross we have been able to draft in recent times.

A shame AFL wasn't Tom's buzz in the wash up.

Yeah nothing against him just looked scrappy plus lucky a lot of rich fumbles

I find it even more strange they knew this when they drafted him and thought they could turn him into a footballer which he isn't.

Petch is a project player that is being given a apprenticeship and if it works out , he may be a asset .. At this stage its probably fair to say he won`t make it but to this point he is playing a more role driven game and not too his strengths ..
I think its to early for everyone to say he`s crap unless they actually know the Wce system and roles players have to perform especially junior players ...

In fact his modus operandi was bursting from a stoppage/congestion from the centre to pin point goals. This is about as valuable a contribution as you can get from a inside/outside midfielder.

It’s been so long since Judd’s debut and best years at West Coast that it’s easy to forget just how damn good he was. Watching those highlights I still don’t think I’ve seen a player with the kind of acceleration from near standstill that Judd possessed circa 2002-2005.

His ability to explode from a contest was second to none. Basically a Dustan Martin with more class.

If you had to pick, Martin in his prime or Judd in his prime?

I sadly don't think we ever saw Judd in his prime, won a Brownlow in his third season, was ridiculous in 05 and 06 then we ****ed his groins in 07 and he lost that burstablility he had, just as he was entering prime age for a mid. Still won a Brownlow at Carlton but with a better midfield around him and 2 good legs reckon he would have absolutely ripped the competition apart.

Would still pick the best we saw of Judd over Martin but the fact that Martin's close is huge for him also, would probably pick Judd's best over Abletts best too

In my original post!...ffs now we're haggling about judd and i was talking about matera vs petch? I'm not interested in judd, he's your hero not mine.

No disrespect but this is a typical WCE supporter response, always an excuse with some type of possible silver lining attached.
Unless the WCE staff are posting on here we are not going to ever know the finer details inside the club so we can only go off what we see.
I finished juniors at 17 and by 21 I would of been insulted to be called a junior in anything. Jack has now played ample men’s footy in both AFL and the WAFL and in either league he can’t find the ball.
Now clearly the club is seeing something we are not but it would be nice to know what that is.
Each to their own view of course but I have been involved with footy my whole life and I don’t need to see 20 plus games to determine what a player has to offer, I know most of the time after 3-5 games. The amount of chances these men are given today is very generous.

Speed - it is a very valuable commodity
