The only one I can think of was Andrew McLeodMatera was a natural and unique footy player.
Have we seen anyone quite like Matera since, with that burst speed, swervability and goal sense?
I seriously doubt Petch can be 'trained' to be like Matera?
But he does have some attributes that could be developed into a handy and consistent role, as long as he doesn't list-clog or prevent another more natural footy player a shot.
He was performing quite well-or heading in the right direction before Covid, with still the occasional brain farts.
Like some other players he had an interrupted season - let's hope they really take him aside and drill him with forward/wing smarts and shots on the run/tackling etc.
Even Jaydyn Stephenson went downhill in 2020..
It was a tough year to judge anyone too harshly, there's been a bit of collateral damage or fallout throughout most clubs? (coaches included)

Another back flanker? Just what we needed!Cant believe this is a active thread. Seems odd
He will move too the HB line next year. Will spend the pre season learning the craft so to speak.

Duggan and Cole looked excellent when moved up the ground this year, so there are potentially spots available.Another back flanker? Just what we needed!
We will lose a few this year with Jetta/Watson/Schofield leaving the backline so just want something different Id say
The other 50% are grubbers. You do know 50% of his kicks are floaters, right?
The other 50% are grubbers.
It all equals out
80% are grubbers. He kicks 130%. That's why he's rated.
This comparison confuses me.If he goes to the backline he's the next Spangher.
Legend of the club and AFL hero?If he goes to the backline he's the next Spangher.
Traded to a Victorian team to become a premiership player? If he goes to the backline he's the next Spangher.
