Sorry. Never! But will definately be barracking for him & probably be barracking for you when it doesn't affect us for his sake. Be interesting to hear what his aunts & uncles will do. We're all Bulldogs through & through. We've never been in this position before!!!!

Just saw the highlights on the WC website. Quite happy now - looks like quality skills on both feet.

The previous "highlights" package i looked at should have had Benny Hill music attached.

I always like looking at the highlights of how blokes kick going inside 50 - IMO the true test of skills. The highlight package looks promising

Would have liked to have seen more on his right foot. He does one right foot chip in that entire video

Err no we can. We certainly can.

Errr go and throw something at someone.

Why don't you just suck it up and give the kid a chance to prove you wrong and hope to hell he does.

I called Duggan at 11 a long time ago and I'm more than happy to land him. He has a good football brain, he uses it together with a lethal left foot. He's not slow but he's not Pickett quick but so what Pickett doesn't have a left foot that pin points targets over 55 > 60m.

Duggan is also young, almost a year younger than other draftees so room to grow / improve, massive upside.

Anyway the draft is over so get behind all the kids we've just drafted and wish them well.

Really like this kids composure. Listened to him on that pick me pick me thing and he oozes captain. Haven't seen too much but the fact I've heard he good on both sides is really appealing

Go look at Nelson's highlights and we've picked another player who can kick with both feet. I couldn't tell what his natural side was he was kicking long goals on both sides and hitting targets short and long on either side.:thumbsu:

I sucked it up last year with Sheed. I'm sick of sucking it up.

I've never once said he's a bad player, and he was my third preference after Laverde and Cockatoo. AFTER Laverde.

Like several others have said, he'd be a good fit in another team, a team which doesn't already consist of small, slow, uncreative midfielders. I don't think he's the fit for us, but i'll be hoping he comes good regardless. Obviously.

There's a video somewhere where he kicks a couple of goals with his right where he could have used his left.

He looks far more dual-sided than Gaff, for instance.

Good call SpaceClef, I still reckon we would have taken Cockatoo first but I thought Duggan was less likely than Laverde or Weller.
Yeah hard to tell, isn't it. I don't think we would have taken a risk on Cockatoo - we really seem to look to our second rounders instead for our risk-taking.

I think he'll be creative - looks to have time and space when he gets it a la Pendles.

Patience, patience.......you must learn patience my fellow Eagles supporter.

Sheed will take 2>3 years to peak, all kids do and hopefully he won't disappoint.

One of the recruiters said recently that people need to drop the "messiah" complex thinking / hoping that a new draftee will make a big impact in year one. If that is the case then the clubs list is in serious trouble.

This season expect / hope Sheed, Colledge, Karpany and Newman to make some increased impact and improve the team. Also all the guys who were injured, Naitanui, Waters and Yeo plus Gaff / Selwood.

Yes, our midfield is bursting with elite kickers.
Poised kickers is the key.

Not many of our midfielders, if any, are good under pressure. From all accounts Duggan is - though you can never tell until you put them in an AFL context.

Most of our players' skills are decent - until they're under pressure. If Duggan can stayed composed under pressure then he'll make a big difference to our midfield.

It's the 'peak' which worries me with some of these players. The peak could very well be permanent B grade like Masten and Selwood.

For what it's worth, i expect both Sheed and Duggan to play most of the year in the WAFL. Unless our midfielders get hurt, we haven't really got a recent track record of exposing young rookies. I haven't got high expectations for any of them to be honest.

Lambs potential freakish ability and his 193cm frame is what i'm excited about.

I know his parents and they are outstanding people and Liam is by all accounts a very sensible young man. As a "bottom ager" he won the Ben Mitchell medal in the AIS squad as best team-man.

Would have been delighted if he'd made it to Collingwood, but we didn't quite have a pick in the right range. Hope he does very well for you.

Won the Ben Mitchell Medal which is voted by his peers as the person who showed the most "courage, commitment, trust and leadership", excellent qualities and obviously stood out from his team mates.
(Josh Kelly and Daniher have won the award in the past).

Great to see someone with excellent traits such as this to go with his well documents footy smarts and silky left-boot.

All adds up to a great pick at number 11.

Welcome to the club!
