Not to take anything away from his game, but to balance it out a bit it should be said this was against arguably the weakest midfield in the competition.

But that said, I agree with all the sentiments that he should stay in the seniors for the rest of year. Need to see if he can perform like this against tougher opposition.

Midfield is their only real strength though

Just watching the game for the first time on replay. Even more impressive is that his first two touches resulted in holding the ball calls against him. He didn't drop his head, but went on to have an amazing game.

Got plenty of love from Frawley and Whately on SEN, both during the game and in the post analysis.
Same on ABC, Malthouse and Matty Boyd very impressed with him. Actually the grandstand commentary of the game was even better than usual.

Makes you wonder why anybody listens to Fox commentary, it's abysmal.

Hahaha if Burton and Rioli cannot win the rising star and Morrison hasn't even got a nomination Worpel is zero chance.

They'd give it to a 1st year player yet to play a game before giving it to a hawk.
Your tinfoil hat is showing.

Today will be a massive confidence boost for James. More midfield time and he shows why he was a highly rated junior

Yeah he may not rack up 30 every week, but if he can continue to bring the sort of effort like today, his development will skyrocket

Earned himself an opportunity to stamp his name in the best 22; take it a run Worp :thumbsu:

Huge.

Can't wait til he builds that tank.

Hopefully means we found another bull to team with Titch. That way our only real need in the midfield is a classy outside mid as an upgrade on Hendo.

Understand your point, but another two quality mids, either re-deploying a couple internally or at least one from outside and an internal redeployment combined with two Quality outside mid runners before we can say we have a midfield that competes for silverware again. Headed in the right direction, but some ways to go over the next 2-3 years. Worp game today proves it. Napoleon knows it.

Napoleon wants at least one, preferrably two bulls by 2021. Nash a plan ???

Nash? Doesn’t fill me with confidence as far as inside mid bull at all. We need one elite inside mid to join Mitchell O’Meara Shiels Howe and Worpel if we wanna compete for a flag while we still have Smith Stratton Puopolo Roughead Breust playing well. If we can’t snag Lynch or MM in the trade period I also think we need to keep schoenmakers and cut our losses with O’Brien.
So in short , for a tilt in 2019-2021 we need one forward and an inside mid.
Lynch and Shiel would be awesome but almost impossible at this stage.

My friend he has an elite junior European rugby background behind him and a competitive edge to go with it. Let’s just see if it can be combined with what we want over the next TWO years.

FGS. If you read what I said there will be a multitude of changes to the midfield structure, Nash could be an athletic bull wildcard. We have other elite midfield targets. Nash could be a speculative chance. Internally it is not speculative. They think he can make it, just going to be giving him the chance
