One thing that really impressed me during preseason and games throughout the year was Chol’s defensive pressure, tackling and desire to run down opponents. I didn’t see that on Friday night and looking at the stats he had zero tackles.

Go back to this Chol and everything else will fall into place!

if he doesn't and he reverts to old Mabs who was stuck in the twos, them Mitchy Lewis takes his place next year.
Its up to him.

Yep it would be great to know how many goals we ended up getting from the balls he was apart of bringing to ground. I think he was just frustrated that he had a TOB type game where it felt like every mark he went for just wouldn't stick. To top things off one of the marks that should've been paid the umpire called play on and it was just that kind of night for Mabs but the important thing is that he just kept on going again and again.
With you 100% here, the guy had a bad day at the office. Really felt for him 'cause we all get them. Love how Sam wrapped his arms around him on the bench in the last quarter. "Its okay mate, we won, you had a bad day, you played your roll and we love you."

Can anyone sponsor him with grippo and not butter fingers, the man just needs a bit of Grip! Tom Hawkins would have 3 cupboards full just on his jumper

Lobb was always going to be a difficult match up for Chol. Lobb is too strong.

However it still enabled Dear to have an easier opponent. So yes Chol was beaten but by engaging Lobb he was structurally very important.
👏

Great point. Like gunner taking Jones to the goal square out of the action as well. It’s team actions like this that get the job done !

Despite that i still think he got in to some good positions, he just had one of them nights where nothing stuck for him. Happens to everyone, fingers crossed it is the opposite on Friday and he is just clunking everything.

Exactly right.. Chol at least kept Lobb occupied which allowed Dear to do his thing.

Who is this twerp? Making sweeping and grandiose assertions based on two poor games? He sounds like a smug self-important doofus. Chol had a great 1st season for reasons that have been well expressed. He'll be much better for the finals experience. I say fire that strident know-all from a cannon into a vat of his own shite...

It's true what he said he had one mark and one ground ball in the final series.

We post in BF when Daniel Hoyne, says we are playing great football and are number 1 in centre clearances and ground ball gets and what we are doing with the ball, and we get excited but when he says a player we have is disappointing which he was, when he was under finals pressure, we don't like it he was disappointing.

Ahh a stats man! Always beware a self-righteous tool armed with sheets of stats going red in the face saying shite like, "..but the stats! they're irrefutable!". Weddle had a poor finals too. He made some alarming brain fart decisions in the heat of the moment. Look at the bigger picture. Chol was a massive win for us this year. Tell stats man to shove his sheets of figures up his clacker I say...Especially when he goes on the news with a microphone in front of his face and asserts this type of provocative click bait codswallop...

Rule #1. Never argue with a man who designs fjords !

Who even is Dan Hoyne?

I’ve no interest in his analysis and I dare say neither do our coaching staff.

Just in case Dan hasn’t been watching us for the past 4 months, we improved quickly because the group harnessed the positives.

Mabior will be fine. It’s not like there’s 4 ready made key forwards busting down the door at Box Hill is there?

It's a stupid thing he said, because he ignored an entire season of history to focus on 2 games and says he's a disappointment. For a statistician, he's an embarrassment if that's his attitude.

I like Hoyne. He's pretty good at interpreting data but he also understands that data isn't gospel either.

He was quick to warn the footy world that we aren't as bad as we looked when we were 0-5.

He was probably the first in the footy world to consider us a genuine premiership threat when we were outside the eight and starting our run.

He's not always going to get it right but he at least backs his thesis up with something tangible unlike the Johnno Browns of the world who just feel it in their balls.
