Fair enough, your opinion. Other Eagles fans seem pretty happy with the trade because he can make an immediate impact on a team that is in striking distance of a flag.

He is nowhere near as inconsistent as you make him out to be but as I said youre entitled to think what you like.

well he is. and plenty of people think same way. if you watch collingwood alot you will know his impact isnt as often as its made out. heck even collingwood came out and said he wasnt consistent a few days ago. i am not sure what exactly you expect him to do when you say "impact"? in what manner exactly do you expect him to impact?

i am not against him coming to club as he is better than some in 22 but his reputation is alot higher than his ability. if we wanted some pace and just someone who is inconsistent, should have gone for Pearce and kept our pick 17. id expect pearce to have more impact even if it is every now and then.

going by the logic that you're only as good as your last game, wellingham is a pathetic footballer. his effort vs sydney in the prelim was pitiful. absolutely disgraceful.

given that sydney are obviously the benchmark, i'm very concerned that we coughed up a first round pick for guy who was clearly shown to be miles off the pace against the best in the heat of a pressure final.

he's inconsistent, his skills are very mediocre, his decision making is suspect. i suppose he will be a handy depth player given we've lost steven & swift, but you don't give up pick 17 for a guy who will be a fringe player.

Again, 17 for a mid we really need we will be waiting for this kid to develop for 4 years, we dont have 4 years with the current squad.

If we were talking about pick 1,2 or 3 for a mid it would be different but this is pick 17, we dont even know whos going to be drafted at we dont know who will be available at pick 17 but one think is certain that Wellingham will be up for selection for round 1.

So, he was in our best side, yet wont be in the Eagles best side even when we knocked them out of the finals again? The Eagles can only trade the picks that they have too.
