AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
How dare we even have some optimism going into a game of football. We may as well not bother watching this game. In fact the AFL could save tens of thousands of dollars by not bothering to fly the team over for the game at all.
Optimism ? I admit alot of the Eagles supporters are getting ahead of ourselves but most of your lot think you will win. Main reason is because of your supposed pace. We have beaten you guys at your home ground this year yet it doesn't count because you had a few injuries ? Now Carlton love playing at Subi because you beat us when we were absolutely woeful and same with Fremantle.
As I have already said before anything an happen and it's a 50/50 game when the ball is bounced but we should be very warm favorites with the bookies and we really should be able to beat Carlton.
In reply to people saying Judd will dominate. Why will Judd fire ? Because he is playing at his old ground in a final ? He didn't do anything against the bombers despite his team nt winning a final in 10 years. You'd think he would lift for that. Scott Selwood is one of if not the best tagger in the game and absolutely killed Judd last time we played. Look for it to happen again. I'm more worried about Murphy.
He does have that grin yes. He also has the grimace he does every time he breathes.
Just because he's a champion doesn't mean he will dominate. Don't worry mate, I know because your a Fremantle supporter you wouldn't know what a champion is but just ask a few questions and I'm sure all posters will be happy to help
Judd is Mr. September. He will fire.
Even when you guys beat us earlier in the year, they still gave you guys headaches... basically because of them that they dragged us back in it in the 3rd term...
I think we're going to win... Gibbs out will be a big loss, but it's having our defence back to this game compared to last time we played has me confident!
Theres arrogance on both sides of this one
Both teams back their own side..rightfully so
Just start the game already
Essendon put 99% of their effort into stopping Judd, they drew up one of their forward flankers to block Judd's run at stoppages along with Hocking. This left the Carlton backline with one spare making it easier for us to rebound off HB. They did this while getting smashed in the ruck and clearances giving them no chance of scoring. While they were completely focussed on Judd Murphy destroyed them, I doubt the eagles will try this tactic.Like last week when he got toweled up by Hocking ?

I fail to see how you can downplay us scoring heaps of points against 8th and 10th placed sides, and at the same time play up the fact that your lot scored heaps of points against an 11th placed side.
Fact: We had 40 scoring shots on Sunday...How is this relevent? Fact - small forwards struggle in finals. Fact - Carlton rely on most of their goals from small forwards. Fact - Carlton will struggle to score until the game is over.
