Have a go yourself:

C: Brett Deledio; Ben Cousins; Matthew Richardson
R: Troy Simmonds; Trent Cotchin; Nathan Foley

If Coughlan gets back to his best and Tuck continues his recent form (ranked 2nd best mid for the second half of 2008 by Champion Data I believe), then things are finally looking up.

How would you pick the starting midfield if you were Terry, and who would be your primary backups?

C: Cotchin, Cousins, Richardson
R: Simmonds, Tuck Foley

Rotations: Coughlan, Deledio, Thomson

You know we're coming!

Not the board for it but, I'd really want to see BOTH Hislop and Thomson in there somehow. Them two and Tuck dishing out to the runners makes me weak at the knees.

Now that you have a midfield with great depth, play Richo in forward line. Give him the 50 for himself with Brown and just pump it in.

C: Cotchin Cousins Deledio
R: Simmonds Foley Tuck
INT: Tambling Vickery Thomson Coughlan

Average age of 23....Yeah, real old General

Start Richo on the forward flank...at his age you cant continue to start him on a wing....add Adam Thomson in there with Coughlan on the bench.

Why not he played 21 games this year I think, the man is a freak and him floating between half back and half forward was an incredibkle thing to watch this year. He has the tank of a kenyan marathon runner, let him run thats what he does best.

He has been training with the midfield this pre-season so far, so id say they want to use him in a mobile roll again.

He missed about 4 games with hamstring problems.

IMO Dave86 is right. Sure Richo played amazing on a wing this season, and might do it again next year, but if he plays on a HFF he might play fantastic for 2 more seasons. It will prolong his career. Besides, clubs will know how to play him better, he won't surprise anyone. And we is of more value in the forward line now that we have a killer midfield. Not necessarily FF, but a HFF, where he can kick goals or run up the field

Hislop might be able to fill that small defender roll that we badly need.

While I am confident in our sides ability in the midfield I am a bit scared of the leg speed of Richmonds mids for round 1 with Delideo, Foley, Crotchin and Tambling running through there and now Cousins. Should be an interesting clash.

Richo should be played at CHB and nowhere else. He is too selfish as a forward and will put all the other key forwards off their game and stall their development.

He is a great talent but when you have an icon of the club chuck a spaz when you don't kick it to him all the time it can't be good for the team.

C: Deledio, Cousins, Cotchin

R: Simmonds, Tuck, Foley

Rotations:
Hislop - playing predominately as a small defender rotating through the midfield when needed.
Coughlan - coming off the bench after a few years out of the game.
Tambling

Richo playing as a HFF still capable of pushing up onto the wing

Reckon richo could be moved back to half forward? Probably need another player to kick 30-40 goals next year. I cant stand looking at the midfield without Deledio there! Look to have alot of depth now, which could be dangerous - port managed to make the 2007 GF based on a strong midfield, even though they lacked a strongish FW line as i spose richmond do too.

Looking at the Stuart Dew scenario, the tigs should be trying to presrve benny for as long as possible, if at all possible.
If they find themselves in finals than let him off the leash.

If they run him into the ground while letting the youngsters off the hook a bit they will struggle big time.
