I've had enough of all of these kents already.

Nothing would satisfy me more right now than drafting H.Reid and watch him kick a bag against the tin-rattlers.

And anyone else wanting to entertain splitting the pick in this massively compromised draft needs to give themselves an uppercut as well.

Also I noticed that he can get heaps of penetration in his kicks (which some had raised as a concern after his game against SA in the U18s).
If you see this kick in the second quarter he takes the kick from about 5m behind the centre line:

And the ball is caught at chest height right near the top of the goal square:

I don't know what that translates to in length exactly but that appears to me to be well over a 60m launch.

All these trade packages coming in and no one even bothered to grease him up with some Gourmet Party Pies.

Just watched the Harley Reid vid and next up was...

I'm glad we have the first pick in this draft.

Do keep in mind that Reid is playing against his own age group whilst Curtin was playing a cut throat final against men

Not diminishing Reid’s highlights by any means but you’re being a bit harsh on Curtin

Yeah I guess my post could be read like that for sure. I could have phrased it better.

What I meant was that I am glad we have the first pick - so we get to choose which of these guys we want, as opposed to finishing 17th and losing that chance.

Those highlights are a glimpse of what Reid will do when he's got "AFL-strength", he's going to be humbled at the top level trying to do what he was doing in that highlight package.

Watching his VFL games he definitely doesn't play with that level of contempt arrogance so I'm confident he'll adjust well and it's a blessing he has speed and height so won't purely rely on strength.

Hope the ankle isn't too bad.

Harley holds own already against men with his size and strength. One big tick with Elijah and ruebs is they held their own physically in their first years as players I can see it being similar for Harley. These boys as a trio in 3/4 years time is going to be a headache for opposition teams with the speed and strength

Commit to Reid with pick 1

If North don’t get band one compo for McKay then talk with Gold Coast on what they need for pick 4 which would give us either Curtin or McKercher (assuming Hawks take Duursma)

It would have to be an exceptional deal to give up pick 1. Like absolutely exceptional and well beyond the ridiculous proposals that have been floated in the media to date

Love how North supporters are trying to say 2 + Port's first for pick 1 is an amazing deal and so good that we should send 19 back...

Clueless.

Imagine if they hadn’t won R24 so finished last and we started proposing pick 2 and 19 (marginally worse than Ports R1) for pick 1

We’d rightfully be laughed at

I understand everyone wants Reid bad, and for good reason.

But comments on Curtin are harsh, 'vanilla' really? He's a gun...
He will be a very very good AFL footballer, making football look easy is vanilla! Wowee.
Anyone that can play wafl senior football to his standard, proves their quality.

IMO Reid, Curtin, Walter, McKercher and Read are high calibre draftees.

Duursma just a smidgen off those guys, but has potential to explode at AFL level.

I just dont think people want a KPD with a top pick. Its been shown you can use later picks on them to good effect. And for talks of turning him into a midfielder, just pick an actual midfielder instead. Too many times we have tried to turn a player into a midfielder and it hasn't worked.

What do you think Curtin does at Colts level?

He's playing a bit of a sweeper role for Claremont but he's got more strings to his bow than that.

Scenarios are different. North would pick Reid with pick 1 100% had they finished last and it would take a godfather offer of first rounders for them to trade it and even then they probably wouldn't. If we're as into Curtin as some ITK believe we are, getting Port's pick (or a swap of picks) is a good trade for us in a scenario where we might just take Curtin with 1. Getting a late first for a downgrade from 1 to 2 in a scenario where North could easily tell us to get bent forcing us to take Curtin with 1 is a very, very good deal imo.

What ITKs are saying WCE are heavily into Curtin?
