I've had enough of all of these kents already.

Nothing would satisfy me more right now than drafting H.Reid and watch him kick a bag against the tin-rattlers.

And anyone else wanting to entertain splitting the pick in this massively compromised draft needs to give themselves an uppercut as well.

Think you're getting your wires crossed. He said yesterday that North aren't likely to be involved in a deal for Reid.

Also said it's North that's into Curtin, so I'm not sure where you got the idea that WCE are 'heavily' into Curtin.

I read his post implying we might have to take Curtin with 1 if we want him that badly lest us and North do a live trade on draft night.

I still think we just take Reid with pick 1 but if we're really keen on Curtin you cant rule anything out. But getting Port's first in a scenario where we can just take Curtin with 1 and not trade down for 2 is a good deal considering the circumstances.

He said Curtin's at 2 on the draft board, not sure which club he was referring to.

If WCE were 'heavily' into him, he'd be at the top.

It's North who are into Curtin. Already met him a few times and are very keen.

Also, give me a reason why WCE would be mad keen to get Curtin, considering Simpson keeps banging on about how we badly need mids. Curtin doesn't fill that hole.

Can't help you with that, however, here's something to pacify you in the interim.
Harley Reid's game today - 27 disposals, 5 marks, 5 tackles and a goal (after the fantastic below mark at the top of the goal square).

When he palms Serong and leaves him sitting on his midget arse, the wooden spoon will be forgotten.

The traditional model is that advert revenue is where they make the money. I don't have a problem with paying a subscription, but if I did it for news, I'd expect exclusive content and no adverts.
Well print newspapers have always cost money.....
They generate revenue through ads and subscriptions

This is how I interpret it reading the posts.

I know in modern world facts dont matter but surely a no 1 rated player is still preferred than no2 rated player.

From my understanding Eagles have Reid 1 (duh) and Curtin 2. From several weeks ago Eagles really like Curtin and Hardeman.
If Eagles didn't have pick 1 we'd be taking Curtin but not at the expense of Reid. No chance Curtin goes pick 1.

North have met him and really like him, he took over from McKercher (north).

I don't expect the Eagles to trade pick 1 during trade week, it could happen draft night, certainly would expect some offers to be made prior to the Eagles calling our Reid.

Please don't let people know I am related to a north supporter.

How could the equation change from trade week to draft night? Unless there is a big trade involving high picks towards the death that a club is willing to punt on us taking what they offer after that?

Interested clubs may get more desperate on the night and throw in an extra pick, future 1st etc etc.

What I don't understand is, why don't we live up to out arrogant name

Call a press conference and say we're taking Harley Reid at 1 come November, we back ourselves and culture and he's the best 18y in the country

Shut the Vic's up and maybe, we may get this godfather offer on the table

Don't trust Austin Powers they will split the pick I bet.

Took a surprisingly long time for Bing AI to come up with something remotely like Austin Powers - you'd think it'd be a pretty easy prompt to recreate 🤷‍♂️

Only one pick swap could happen WCE get 2 & 3 NM get 1 & 19, if this doesn't happen we take Reid.

That’s the sort of trade needed to part with pick 1 imo

Reid & Hardemann/Tholstrup/Insert name here

vs

Curtin & McKercher/Duursma

It’s an interesting comparison and I think there’d be posters who still keep Reid and whoever we get at 19

I prefer keeping pick one and getting Reid, but if it was pick 1 for 2 and 3, that’s probably the only conceivable trade I’d find palatable.

Pick 19 holds a lot of value on night two and I’d rather hold it for a slider.

Pick 19 only holds real value if a team is desperate for a player who is a real slider.

Also it will be interesting with tier 2 compo if those picks are night 1 or 2. I haven't been able to get confirmation yet. If they are night 2 then 19 isnt worth more than its nominal pick.

You probably do 2+3 in a heartbeat, you get the best WA player and a very damn good second kid and then have no concerns about Reid going home after 2 years. Ignore all the Vic shit and just go to the draft content.

But Reid is a hell of a kid to pass on.

Luckily that trade will never happen so we'll never have to think about it.
